Game dev Ilucide was more than happy to talk about one of the more prominent places over at EverQuest II, and we figured you'd wanna hear about the new residence that's gonna be popping up too. Enter Castle Mistmoore. Located across the Loping Hills, Mistmoore Castle's the residence of Lord Mayong - your not-so-friendly neighborhood elven vampire. The local villagers have long looked upon this castle with a twinge of fear, deathly afraid of the power that Mayong holds, and the aforementioned eerie atmosphere of the castle. If it's any good news, Mayong's often hidden away in his inner sanctum, studying the Zebuxoruk's prophecies. For a reception, would-be visitors (Raiders, treasure hunters, demon hunters, Belmonts, Blade...) will first have to fight their way through the other vampires inhabiting this castle, which should prove to be meaner than your everyday brand of enemies. Old-time EverQuest players will also be happy to know that the devs have taken special care to make this castle a tribute to its previous incarnation in EQI - evident in the the piano, stained glass, and gray stone walls that were faithfully copied from the EQI version. As for the rest of the castle's majestically malicious feel, you can thank Michael Bacon for his efforts, and numerous items such as the high ceilings which were inspired by European gothic cathedrals, specifically those in Barcelona. Mistmoore Castle: Your recommended party's tour destination for EQ2's EoF expansion. |

Ah... Halloween. The time of the year which we really love aside from April Fools Day. The time when we can finally be "normal" and be confident when walking the streets without receiving puzzled looks from other people. When we can unleash our inner creativity with looks that seem out of this world. And hey, its comforting to know that even citizens from a world where they would wear costumes everyday also get to celebrate Halloween with us. Man, we are talking about Paragon City. Yep, our friendly superheroes and not so friendly villains is ready to strut their style in this year's Halloween holiday. Expect a big change in the city as Unseelie court is planning to send a bunch of unwelcome fiends including werewolves and vampires to the city. This should be good news as combating monsters may be one great way to celebrate Halloween, eh? Also, this is one great time to show off what you got. Don't worry, Ravenwing Cabal from Croatoa has promised to help. Don't forget to look for Ravenwing Cabal member Annah to give you updates once the festival commences on October 18, ok? And oh, don't forget to get yourself a copy of The Paragon Times to let you know the latest news. Going back to the celebration, of course who would forget one of Halloween's favorite activity? Why, trick or treat-ing of course! Just to let you know, special surprises awaits both heroes and villains. So be sure to wear your greatest superhero/villain costume for the holiday and expect the unexpected. With these in mind, Halloween would surely be a kick-ass activity for Paragon City despite news of an impending threat. The festivity will last until 11:59pm EST of Oct 31. |

Okay, all you Vampires, Oil Company Executives, Congressmen and other drinkers of blood, listen up: Dungeons and Dragons Online's much awaited Litany of The Dead Part One is now live. Here's a little tavern song to give you a little hint of the horrors that now await you in the (mwah-ha-haHAHAHAHA!) Necropolis: "They lie here at eternal rest At the center of all this macabre business is a former alchemist, now known as the Black Prophet, who goes by the name of Brother Coure. "Coure" denotes "heart" in at least two Romance languages, and it's appropriate: he runs a number of tombs with delightful monikers like The Crimson Heart, The Sanguine Heart, The Burning Heart, The Immortal Heart...and oh, yes...The Bloody Crypt. In any event, The Silver Flame and the Emerald Claw are going to have to set aside their differences if they plan to pull off a Van Helsing manoeuvre. As things stand, the vampires who have been locked away by Brother Cuore and charged with the task of creating a "Litany of The Dead" have completed the first chapter. The Black Prophet now roams the night once more...(insert more diabolical laughter here)...are you up to challenging him? |
