World of Warcraft - Valentine's Day Commercial - Image 1

"What would you give the one you love? This Valentine's Day, show here how epic your love truly is... Buffs can be dispelled, but sockets are forever." Dabiri Venture Co. of Azeroth markets the epic jewel as the symbol of your affection for your significant other. But this early in the year, that's kind of a lot to ask, isn't it? Anyone who can take out the current last boss may give it a try though, because if you can't, bank-breaking is the only way to go!

In this day of hearts, mushy two-liners, bouquets and bite-sized sweets, Blizzard's World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade doesn't shy away from their creative (apparently smeared with humor) side. Can't go epic? You can always go common. It's good practice for your jewel crafting skills, anyway.

Ganymede: making the world a better place for LOVE! Wait - wasn't that Hannah Montana's job? - Image 1We didn't know that the heroes of Paragon City and the villains of Rogue Isles had the time to boogie down and party, what with their hectic schedules of saving/destroying the day in Issue 9 of City of Heroes/Villain. But last year's Valentine's Day Paragon Dance Party looks set to become a tradition as DJ Zero and NCSoft celebrate Valentine's again, in the same manner, in the same Pocket D nightclub venue.

Hey, where else in the game can heroes and villains work together for in-game rewards (in this case a Valentine's Day heart-pattern costume set)? Not to mention, where else in the game can heroes and villains get together, stop fighting, knock back a drink or two, dance the night away, try one or two cheesy pickup lines, go home together for a little sumthin'-sumthin' (alright, that's way too much imagination there)...

The event started on Tuesday, but the party won't stop 'till the 4th of March.

WARNING: Pocket D management will not be responsible for superpower injuries inflicted by the use of extremely lame pickup lines, like "Come with me, and I'll make you leap tall buildings in a single bound..." Okay, that was just pathetic.

With the looming shadow of Valentine's Day nearly upon us, IGG has seen fit to bestow a few choice new items upon their loyal Myth War Online player base. First off, the following items will be receiving great discounts: Peculiar Whammy Egg (from 345 to 304), Fantastic Whammy Egg (from 225 to 198), Whammy Egg (from 90 to 79), Dragon Bone (from 100 to 88), and Dragon Eye (from 100 to 88). The discounts will be in effect t until February 28.

Next, new items! The following have just been added to the Item Mall:

  1. Myth War Online - Image 1Small Dragon Stone lv10 (used to forge lv10 weapons / point: 30)
  2. Medium Dragon Stone lv10 (used to forge lv11 weapons / point: 40)
  3. Big Dragon Stone lv10 (used to forge lv12 weapons / point: 50)
  4. Super Dragon Stone lv10 (used to forge lv13 weapons / point: 60)
Best of all, the new Cupid Gift Packs are now available. These new gift packs contain Chinchilla eggs (Pack A has a Blue Chinchilla, Pack B comes with a Yellow one), chocolates, and roses - a veritable all-in-one gift for that special someone.

What I really like about the Cupid Gift Packs is that if you give a pack to someone, you can still gain a lot from it. Take the chocolates for example. The item desc says, "After using, increase your friend's experience largely." Hey! I guess being nice does give good rewards.

As we've previously reported, in that Lunar Festival clarification, Azeroth will be celebrating Valentines with World of Warcraft's Love is in the Air Event, which will last from February 11 - February 16.

Much like last year, unique Valentine's Day decorations and "Love Tokens," cologne, and perfume should be available to players who want to celebrate the season.

We'd like to post YouTube embeds of "Valentines" day celebrations but most of the videos we found were closer to something you'd see in World of Whorecraft than something you'd see in your standard "chick flick." The best we could find is this quirky "Cupid" video. It may be old, but still it's way better (and more politically correct) than simulated "boinking."

Happy Valentine's folks!
