Those of you who thought the grind in NCsoft's Lineage 2 was getting a little too tedious, then you'll love the new changes brought about in the latest "free to subscriber" update for the game. Gracia - Part 1 introduces a new leveling system which will dramatically speed up character advancement, especially for the newer players. The people at NCSoft have been working hard to deliver Lineage II: The Chaotic Throne to players. This free update implements a lot of changes in terms of gameplay and balance. One of the major updates for the game is a new dueling system. Tim Tan, the associate producer for the game, discussed the dueling system and gave tips on the updated system.

The new dueling system does exactly what it sounds like: your character can challenge other characters to a fight. The system splits the combat into two different duel types: one versus one and party versus party. When participating in a duel, it should be remembered that players are not given Exp. penalties for their deaths.

General Rules for declaring duels

There are times when duelling will be disabled so don't be surprised if you try to duel and it doesn't work. Below are the instances when players will not be allowed to duel:

• In areas flagged as chaotic
• While in a peace zone
• While currently participating in a siege
• While in a clan war
• While swimming
• While riding a mount

Lineage II: The Chaotic Throne was launched last April 12, so you can already try out the new system. Still be careful though, we believe that teabagging an opponent is still considered to be unethical in all societies.
