Alright, this news is actually a few days old and you guys have probably heard of it already, but just in case you haven't, we'll feature it here on QJ as well.So. The ESA (Entertainment Software Association) is on Kotaku's case 'cuz they featured a wickedly funny t-shirt made by one smart-assed fella. What's so special about the shirt? Well, it's a spin-off on the ESRB's rating system, and a hilarious one at that. As you can see from the image on the right, the shirt says "Your Mom's Rated E for Everyone." Funny right? But apparently the ESA didn't find it the least bit funny 'cuz they're demanding that Kotaku take down the post that contains this controversial shirt. ESA then emailed Kotaku, explaining that their panties are all in a twist (well no, they didn't exactly say that) because (and we quote): The rectangular box design and tag line on the t-shirt is virtually identical to the ESRB's rating in a box design and tag line (hereinafter "rating in a box design"). We believe that this t-shirt ad will result in consumer confusion, and a substantial likelihood that the ESRB certification marks will face tarnishment and dilution. Kotaku responded by saying that their post was clearly not an ad and that it was merely editorial content. And they refuse to take down their post because the ESA has no control over websites' editorial content. I can't speak for the rest of the QJ staff, but personally, I really don't see the big deal here. I mean, it's CLEARLY a parody, and it's not like anyone's gonna mistake that "rating" for a real ESRB-issued one. Whatever happened to freedom of speech, eh ESA? |

Netamin has announced a new Ultimate Baseball 2006 tournament called Summer Classic. It is comprised of Double Elimination-format rounds, and takes place from August 7 to August 15. 16 six-man (5 on the field, 1 as a substitute) teams get to play for the fame and money. Actually, it'll be 32, as Netamin has decided to run two tournaments simultaneously, one for players Level 30 and above, another for the players from Level 1 to 40, so that each player regardless of the amount of time he spent with Ultimate Baseball Online has a chance of winning. The entry fee for the event is $6.95, but the prizes that are up for grabs should far outweigh that little investment. Here's what'll be available to the winners... Upper Division (Level 30 and above) 1st: $100 toward game tickets/merchandise to any MLB, Minor League, or other professional baseball game 2nd: $50 gift certificate to shop.mlb.com 3rd: Custom UBO T-shirt Lower Division (Levels 1-40) 1st: $75 gift certificate to shop.mlb.com 2nd: Custom-fitted UBO hat 3rd: Custom UBO T-shirt The Summer Classic is the second Ultimate Baseball Online event after the Invitational Tournament ended a few weeks ago. The players of the winning team received a Playstation Portable system, once again proving that it's worth to spend a little time in the Sports MMO World of Ultimate Baseball Online. |

Time's up! Plenty of people jumped at the chance to get some free threads, and from the looks of our email, some of them needed it! You have no idea how many people entered saying that they were naked and needed something to wear - thanks for that, now our inbox needs a good disinfecting. Unfortunately, creative emails wasn't part of the choosing process (as entertaining as they were), but here are the 3 randomly chosen winners - congrats! Ethan M. Nuke Jigger Jay Hats Shirts off to you guys - you'll be getting an email from Split Reason in the next few days! The rest of you can still get your hands on some of these great gamer tees, but you'll have to head over to Split Reason Clothing and drop a few bucks. Maybe, if you guys are lucky, the fine folks over at Split Reason will have another contest for everyone sometime in the near future! Until then, be sure to check them out and say thanks for thinking of our QJ readers!
