Encountering the Rikti is considered by some as one of the most memorable experiences in NCsoft's City of Heroes. Those who haven't had the chance to do so will probably be interested to earn their stripes by defending Paragon City from this alien threat. For more information, fly to the full article. |

The lure of teasers can be difficult to resist - they tend to whet your appetite for more without revealing too much about a good thing. Speaking of which, Cryptic Studios has done exactly that with a new Champions Online teaser video. It's short, it's sweet, and it's available right after the jump. |

The producer of the upcoming Transformers movie, Tom DeSanto, has his eyes set on procuring the rights for NCsoft's City of Heroes. He is currently planning on turning the popular MMORPG into a movie, and then into a television series. DeSanto talked about this move saying that "a big superheroes vs. aliens movie" hasn't been done and that he envisions this as "the next big superhero franchise." That's well and good but he didn't factor in the appeal of the game. The game became popular not because of the storyline; it became popular because people wanted to play a superhero or supervillain that was their own creation. Movies and television shows in general lose that kind of interactivity. That said, we'll just have to wait and see if his deal with NCsoft pushes through. After all, DeSanto is the same guy who secured the rights to Transformers and produced the first two X-men movies, he can probably pull off something like this right? |

NCSoft's City of Heroes is the first MMORPG based on creating your own superhero (in the traditional comic-book sense) and saving the world. Given the game's comic book roots it would have been a disservice to the community if the game did not have its own actual comic book. That's when Top Cow and Blue King come in, to deliver great online comic books free of charge. For those who haven't been reading up, issues 17 and 18 are already out but you can download their entire store of back-issues for free. We'd advise you do just that since you might get lost when the current comic refers to something that happened in the past. Anyway, we're sure that free comics would have any comic book fan screaming "Gimme!Gimme!" so we're not going to keep you waiting any longer. The comics are available in PDF format, so you might need to download Adobe PDF reader to view it if you don't have it already. Keep checking back here for more issues news on City of Heroes.
