It'll still take a while before Wrath of the Lich King gets here, but in the meantime, Blizzard's doing a number on World of Warcraft's Public Test Realms. New talents are available across the board, and Blizzard's reimbursing everyone's talent points in the PTR. At least you don't have to waste cash on your Class Trainer to unlearn them all. Check out the full patch notes for PTR 3.0.2 in the full article! |

In a recent interview with the EA Mythic's Warhammer Online Development Team, the WAR Community Team answered some questions about the game regarding Tactic Points, Quests, and other sprinting. The WAR Community Team clarifies that the game will have seven Tactics slots (powers you can use in battle). You earn Tactics for slots either through career advancement, Renown, or through quests. You can opt not to buy Tactics as soon as you get the points to attain them. You can hoard points for later purchases. The WAR team also explained that you can speed up your sprint but this is at the cost of action points. Depending on the class, the required number of action points needed will vary. As for Public Quests in Warhammer Online, they are intended to be completed by more than one player. Each stage is timed, and should the timer run out before the stage is completed the whole Quest will restart. Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning will be out (hopefully) by early next year. |

If you've been wondering about what's the latest in Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, well, you came to the right place, as we have this quick and short update waiting just for you. Sony Online Entertainment (SOE), together with Sigil Games and Koch Media, announced today that the game's open beta phase will officially end on January 23 at exactly 11:59 PM, Pacific Time. After that, all the servers will then be shut down to make way for the transfers of every single beta character to a test server. However, one should note that this same test server won't be open until sometime after January 30 launch. Accordingly, these early birds will be granted early access to the live servers before the official release date, though what exactly "early" means, is something that SOE is yet to clarify. Anyway, as you all know, the game can be pre-ordered both online and at retail. Now, those who have the knees to go physically to a store will be getting an exclusive endurance buff scroll that will allow their character to sprint for longer periods of time. We're wondering about the things that took place during the beta phase; how's the crafting system now? And how about the mounts? Oh well, we guess we will all find out together when Vanguard is finally released later this month. |

For those of still getting your bearings in Guild Wars, take note that it's a PvP-focused MMORPG, hence a lot of the action takes place not against some evil, malevolent, elder god taking over the game's world, but rather against your fellow gamers, though they're probably no less evil and malevolent than the aforementioned elder-god.
With that detail drop-kicked out of the way, the most prevalent character build in-game are geared for PvP combat. In line with this, the game offers pre-fab character classes, with pre-set attributes, pre-set primary profession skills, and open slots for secondary profession skills. And of course, you'll have to find/craft your own weapons and armor - didn't think the devs would make this that easy, did you? After you've decided on a character to play, up ahead is the list playable character classes, along with their six primary profession skills, a basic strategy guide per character, and a recommendation for your secondary skills once you unlock them. Remember your Sun Tzu: "Know thy enemy, know thyself." The full article awaits after the jump! |

Sony and Sigil Games are really pulling out all the stops for the release of the highly anticipated MMORPG Vanguard: Saga of Heroes. They announced today the goodies that gamers will get in both the Collector's and Guild's Editions of Vanguard as well as pre-order details for the game. We're betting that this piece of news will leave fans drooling all over their keyboards when they read it so here goes nothing. First off, the pre-order box! Those who go the pre-order route will get a jump start over others of up to 3 days prior to the official launch. You also get a special account key that will grant you a unique in-game exclusive scroll that will allow your character to sprint for longer periods of time due to an endurance buff (one per account). Also included in the pre-order box is an invitation to the Vanguard Open Beta, a Guild Mail recruitment tool, and a whole slew of assets including videos, wallpapers and screenshots. Now before we move on to the premium editions, let's take a moment to look at what you get in the regular edition of Vanguard. The regular edition will set you back US $49.99 and will include a one month subscription to Vanguard: Saga of Heroes Station Players - an array of features that give access to characters and guilds by merging the game world with the Web. You also get your choice of an in-game magical wand to create fireworks or an in-game set of horseshoes with speed to use once you get your first horse (one per account). Okay, on to the Collector's and Guild Editions. These babies will both come in custom leatherette chipboard boxes and will go for a suggested price of US $89.99. If you opt for these premium editions you get an art book featuring original pieces by fantasy artist Keith Parkinson, a cloth map with an overview and points of interest for each continent, a copy of the original Vanguard soundtrack, and a three month subscription to Station Players. You also get one of three Hero Cards, each granting a unique in-game item (one per account). The three Hero Cards are as follows: the Jeric Card (grants a cloak that increases adventuring stats), the Eila Card (grants a cloak that increases crafting stats), and the Idara Card (grants a cloak that increases diplomacy stats). If you thought that was all, you're dead wrong. You also get the in-game magical wand or the magical horseshoes that are available in the regular edition as well as a Guild Kit that includes and in-game Guild Trophy that buffs stats for an entire guild (obviously, you need to earn or create a guild house before you can use this) and ten 10-day buddy keys. Whew, that's one heck of a goodie bag. Definitely something to look forward to. Remember kiddies, the pre-order box will be available in early December while the regular and premium editions will hit store shelves on Vanguard launch day, Q1 2007. |
