Independent video game developer Realtime Worlds received a whopping US $ 31 million from New Enterprise Associates (NEA) to build new video game franchises and recruit top programming and game development talent from around the world. Realtime Worlds is currently polishing its first exclusive Xbox 360 game, Crackdown, set to be released sometime 2007. In addition, the company is also working on All Points Bulletin, an original MMOG for PC and Xbox 360 in partnership with Korea">Webzen of Korea. Realtime World said the big bucks will allow them to do "extraordinary things." One of those extraordinary things would be developing a global centre of excellence for some of the world’s best games developers. Some of the money will also go into building "new gaming experiences" for the Xbox 360 and PC. |
