PlayOnline's banhammer strikes again on Final Fantasy XI - Image 1It seems that PlayOnline is really serious when it comes to letting loose the banhammer on players caught using cheats and other unacceptable devices on the MMORPG version of Square Enix's Final Fantasy XI (also on Xbox 360).

PlayOnline mentioned that while these cases adversely affect the game, the company will continue to severely penalize any players found to be in violation of the Member Agreement. Check the full details at the "read more" link below.

The menacing Peiste! - Image 1PlayOnline's and Square Enix's Final Fantasy XI website for the Wings of the Goddess expansion has been updated with new monsters and descriptions of two new job types.

Visiting the website, you'll be treated to two new monsters: the Peiste (pictured right) and the Rafflesia. You'll also see descriptions of the Dancer and Scholar job classes, two of the new big additions you'll be seeing in Wings of the Goddess.

For those who haven't heard of the Dancer and the Scholar, we've got a short description of the two for them, as revealed by the website. First off, the dancer's looks to be a new kind of offensive support class, where the dancer's dances effectively act like spells that can either inflict damage or induce a status effect upon the enemy.

Final Fantasy XI site updated - Image 1

Heads up, Final Fantasy fans! We've just gotten word that PlayOnline's official Final Fantasy XI: Wings of the Goddess website has been updated with info on new enemies and the game's Campaign mode.

First off, the website has been updated with pictures of three new enemies, known as the Slug, the Gnole, and the Ladybug. Don't let the names fool you though: they're definitely going to be tougher than they look!

The main draw of this new update is on the "History's Greatest Conflict" tab. Introduced in the Wings of the Goddess trailer, the Campaign setting is further explained on the website. According to the information within, it seems players can join up with one of the three main armies of the Allied Forces of Altana. They haven't mentioned much about this Campaign system, but apparently you'll be able to do more than simply fighting beastmen. Instead, you can also join in on "marches, supply runs, entrenchment and fortification, and cooperative maneuvers with allied forces."

In any event, you'd best be served by visiting the site yourself through the read link we have below. Final Fantasy XI: Wings of the Goddess will be coming out on November 20, so you better watch out for it. Till then, keep those weapons sharpened!

Final Fantasy XI - Image 1In a bid to preserve game integrity and balance, about 6,750 PlayOnline accounts for the MMORPG Final Fantasy XI by Square Enix were terminated by PlayOnline, with 1,150 accounts temporarily suspended. The massive account suspension and termination were caused by the use of illegal third party tools and Real Money Trading (RMT) cases. The accounts were terminated and suspended after the recent server maintenance.

The violations that triggered the downfall of many a player are as follows: the usage of third party tools that enhanced character movement allowed the circumvention of game mechanics, enables the use of repeated action, monster monopolization, etc.

About 2.3 billion gil were also removed from the servers to preserve the in-game economy within Final Fantasy XI.
