While professionalism has it that I reserve bashing the crap out of
things, Erik Estavillo is really asking for it. Let's face it, the guy
is on a suing spree from hell. Estavillo, more commonly known as "the banned Resistance player that sued Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo", is now turning his eyes to
Blizzard, which is responsible for the evil moneymaker, World of Warcraft.
To help make his case, he turns to Depeche Mode's Martin Lee Gore and
Winona Ryder - you'll know how that "makes sense" in just a bit. |

Games Convention Asia

Opening prime horizons in the Eastern hemisphere, the first Games Convention Asia is good to be in Singapore next week. And we've just heard that Electronic Arts, Nintendo Company Ltd., and Sony will be a few of several big name publishers to attend the Asian contingent of Leipzig's trade show. Given that all three companies have Asian satellites in Southeast Asian nations, it's likely that this news comes with little surprise. Readers from the region might want to check out the conference, because Sony has claimed that it will feature several games for the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Portable for the duration of the event's exhibition leg. Nintendo will also be using the event to launch the Wii console within the territory. The nations this "territory" includes has yet to be clarified. EA on the other hand will be showing off Crytek's Crysis, EA Sports' FIFA 08, and Harmonix' Rock Band at the four-day exhibition affair. Other big names to show up at GC Asia are well known in the region, such as Blizzard Entertainment, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Nokia, 10tacle, and Asiasoft. Need to know more? Keep your eyes glued to this space for more developments as they come in. |

The E3 Media and Business Summit 2007 may have come and gone, but
there's still a ton of important post-E3 tidbits that deserve every
gamer's attention. Mostly because in addition to new videos and
screenshots of the latest upcoming video games, there are things you
probably haven't heard of yet.For instance, you might have heard about the conflicting reports about the 60 GB PS3 getting phased out, but did you know that the advent of the PSP Slim may also herald the death of the old PSP model? How about the strongly worded remarks Peter Dille made against the Xbox 360? You probably heard him say that HD-DVD is as good as dead. Did you know, however, that Peter Moore has a rebuttal to that? Even more importantly, it's a civil one! You also probably know that the Nintendo Wii is selling oodles of units, but how about the possibility of the Wii outselling the grandmaster of gaming, the PS2? There's certainly some merit in that assertion, though it'll probably take the Wii a while to break the 100 million unit barrier. Our post-E3 roundup of gaming goodness has all that and more. While you're at it, feel free to check out our E3 roundups for days one, two, and three of the summit. We're certain you'll find some talking points there. Enjoy! Talking Points: E3 update: Sony phases out old PSP, no price cut for existing PSPs E3 update: Peter Moore says Dille's HD-DVD's death comment greatly exaggerated E3: Iwata says the Wii could break the PS2 record QJ's assorted bits of E3 goodness: E3 video interview for Dead Head Fred E3: Nyko's third-party accessories for Wii, Xbox 360, PS3 E3: Gamecock's E3 funeral procession E3: three new Silent Hill: Origins gameplay videos More tidbits of E3 after the jump! |

For those who are wondering about this game, The Half Broken Crown: The Broken Kingdoms is a browser-based game which is said to be playable on a multitude of systems: PC, Mac, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, Sony PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Portable. This game is based on the upcoming novel by Darren Reid and is being developed by nextgenbooks.com. Unlike most of the current MMOs in the market where there is a heavy sense of competition between players, this game is said to draw "upon a classic-style point and click interface and will focus upon puzzle solving and community building, eschewing combat and player death." Now I'm not sure what that means, but from the description, it looks like a Sims/puzzle type game. It has also been announced that, on June 17, a video tutorial will go live on The Broken Kingdoms website, we should know more about it when it goes out. While waiting, be sure to check out the screenshots of the game. |
