Following the numerous third-party World of Warcraft apps already available for the iPhone and iPod Touch, Blizzard recently took the plunge with the release of an official World of Warcraft app that lets users access the Armory database from practically anywhere.

When you're talking about Square Enix in a global scale, there's no doubting that they've managed to rake in huge amounts of sales for all their franchises. Final Fantasy? Kingdom Hearts? And of course, the more recently acquired Tomb Raider? How do they all stack up against each other? It's not surprising that they're raking sales by the millions for these big franchises. I'm just left wondering... how do they fare against lifetime sales for MGS, GTA, CoD, and the like?

During the DICE Summit, Michael Gallagher, CEO and new president of the ESA, told the audience that the video games industry has become mainstream.

Much like serious sports fans have their ESPN SportsCenter programs, ON Networks is taking a similar route to provide World of Warcraft players online coverage for all their hardcore MMORPG needs for the game. Called, ON Warcraft, the program is available through the ON Networks website as well as through video-on-demand services like iTunes.

The program is hosted by Arwen Lietz and Marc Majcher as they provide colorful play-by-play commentaries while giving players some much needed information on how to navigate Blizzard's World of Warcraft universe.

Their first show in the series tells about the first instance dungeon in the Outlands, the Ramparts. They detail various tips and strategies on how to go through the area, as well as inform viewers on how to maximize experience, reputation and gold there.

ON Warcraft is just one of several programs of ON Networks that provide smart, informative and portable entertainment that can be watched anywhere on any device. ON Networks is one of the largest providers of compatible content for all Apple platforms, including the iPhone, iPod and Apple TV.

ON Networks' producer Cliff Wildman had this to say about the new program:

The debut of ON Warcraft is sure to appeal to the legions of WoW players. The show is for any of these players – from casual gamers to serious raiders – who want to enhance their gameplay and maximize their efficiency in the game

Whoa! It's really hard to keep track of time especially when you've been deeply absorbed by the gravity of your current undertaking. Hmm, "gravity". That sounds a pretty good word to describe the week's recent events. Gravity's synonymous to "implications", and the things we're about to report will surely eat up our time figuring out what the backlash will be. Surprised? Alan Joyce of EverythingDigital.org uploaded a video clip over at YouTube showing Blizzard's World of Warcraft running on Apple's iPhone. He was able to do it with the help of Telekinesis, a third-party streaming program that allows users to remotely access their Macs through a collection of mini web applications on the phone.

Joyce noted that the experience wasn't that smooth given WoW's textures, graphics, and sound settings among others. Despite that, Alan Joyce mentioned that he could control several actions in the MMO video game through the iPhone interface like receiving and responding to in-game chat messages.

Anyone seeing a future deal between Blizzard and Apple? Possibly a WoW client for the iPhone? We guess we'll have to wait and see.

PC World, a global computer magazine, has recently named some of the most influential people on the internet. Net heads, here's the top five of a list of those persons who move and shake the internet; we've arranged them from the fifth to the first for emphasis.

3. Bram Cohen, Co founder of BitTorrent - This math and programming whiz kid put up BitTorrent, a way to download large files (like movies) by sharing the burden across hardware and bandwidth.

Hmm, we've reported about this just two weeks back but we felt it was worth touching back on as PocketGamer airs some pretty interesting points regarding this rumor.

For those who missed that post, here's a quick overview. iPhone World got a tip from an anonymous and reliable source that World of Warcraft is coming to the iPhone and also Video iPod. According to the said source, he/she saw a beta of WoW on the said Apple products.

Curiously, the anonymous Apple person (so much for Apple's well guarded secrects) claimed, "Watch out for the iPhone and their new video iPod when it comes to gaming. Imagine playing WoW on them using the touch screen interface. Think of the impact it's going to have on the handheld game market and Apple’s revenue." This rumor was greeted with a mixture of absolute disbelief and some sort of "I wonder if it's really possible".

According to PocketGamer, the iPhone's (and Video iPod's) leap from conventional mobile gaming to online gaming is just hard to compute. They are not completely discrediting the information since the iPhone reportedly has a full OS X (WoW has been successfully ported to the Mac OS). Throw the ARM11 processor into the pot plus touch screen capabilities and you get something that would resemble a handheld.

Could it really be true? Stay tuned for more updates and let's hope that the next Apple person we hear from is reliable sans the anonymity.

iPhone World has an exclusive report regarding World of Warcraft, it seems. An anonymous tip they got from a "reliable source" mentioned that Apple's iPhone and new video iPod will be able to run World of Warcraft.

The source mentioned that you'll be using the touch screen interface to play the game and that it was already demonstrated on the rumored new video iPod - said to be blessed with the same touchscreen technology that the iPhone has.

A very juicy rumor, but could it be true? From our perspective, all we can say is "Shenanigans!" If you'd recall, Blizzard has been emphasizing a keyboard and mouse as essentials to play and enjoy WoW. If the iPhone (who is said to have a very powerful ARM11 processor) or the rumored new video iPod could really run the game, who would want to play it on a very small screen?

Well, maybe some really small gamers with really small limbs... but then again, wouldn't ants have trouble paying for membership?
