Blizzard Entertainment secret project codenamed Hydra? - Image 1Speculation is trickling in from the recently concluded Austin Game Developers Conference, with this latest bit regarding the third mystery title that Blizzard may be working on.

According to the source, the information was picked up between two Blizzard employees at the event grounds, with one employee specifically stating that he worked on some project labelled "Hydra." It will be important to note that Starcraft II, prior to getting properly identified, was similarly codenamed "Medusa."

That's the all the information we've got at this point, and it's anybody's bet on what this third project could be. For my personal guess, it might be Diablo 3 - a detail further exemplified that World of Warcraft's Hydras bear three heads (yes, I'm overstepping my bounds a tad bit here). We invite the readers to voice out what this project might be.

Where else can you slay mythical beasts (hopefully not the other way around) and wear some shiny armor? Perpetual Entertainment's Gods and Heroes: Rome Rising brings all that and more.

Beat down the bull-headed Minotaur (excuse the pun), nasty three headed dog Cerberus, the multi headed Hydra, and other Juggernauts bigger than the Colossus of Rhodes. Or you can choose to battle royale in the Colosseum and shout, "Are you not entertai-" err, we mean you can play gladiator.

Anyway, we have here a few screens and a video of combat for Gods and Heroes: Rome Rising.

See the screens after the jump!

CES 2007

Despite reports that Perpetual Entertainment's alleged employee lay-off, and rumors about the actual reason for the move of the ship date of their MMORPG, Gods and Heroes: Rome Rising, community response still seems to be very much positive.

General sentiment is that players prefer a polished game. So how's the "polishing" been going so far? Here's a trailer for the game that was released in this year's CES 2007, see for yourselves:

Yep, it's a game filled with Titans, Medusa, Hydras, and... zombie Minotaurs?

Auto Assault!

NCsoft's Action MMO title Auto Assault has been moving steadily along with its own niche market of gamers. Now, we've been mentioning the impending Update 2 patch for the game, which adds new features and missions for players.

Well, the game isn't impending anymore, as it's already here for players to pick up. For the most part, patch 2 is changing the gameplay to make it friendlier to newcomers as well as giving veterans more things to do in-game, such as the introduction of new arenas and new Battlemaster series items.

For more information, visit the Auto Assault website to gain more info on downloading the patch, or you could check out the patch notes through us right here:

ADDED

  • Added three new convoy instant repair skills at Level 55. These skills repair the caster and all nearby members of the caster's convoy, making it a very efficient repair option in groups.

    • Biomek Constructors get "Reformation".

  • Emergence arena ready for play.

  • The Coliseum is available and ready for play.

Sand TrollThere are four categories of trolls: forest, jungle, ice and sand. The dark trolls category was later added as a fifth category because it is under debate on how many categories are necessary in order to describe the troll race.

For this article we're going to focus on sand trolls. How can you identify an sand troll? Their skin is coarse and cracked with colors varying from brown or gold. Sand trolls are feisty creatures that will attack all outsiders who'd wander into their territory. The Sandfury tribe lead by Chief Ukorz Sandscalp, is the biggest gathering of sand trolls. They worship a hydra named Gahz'rilla.

If they bear some resemblance to the jungle trolls, it's because they are their descendants. The Great Sundering shattered the jungle trolls' territory and left the Sandfury tribe stranded in the middle of what swiftly became the desert of Tanaris.

There are other unclassified troll tribes, the fifth category of trolls I mentioned a while ago called the Dark Trolls. The gray to black Dark trolls, are thought intellectually inferior to other trolls because of their seemingly nonstrategic attack method. There isn't any evidence that the dark trolls have ever formed a civilization or nation. Indeed, their estimated numbers are so few that their existence as a distinct category of troll is considered highly questionable. In consequence, it seems likely that if the dark trolls do exist, they are derived from a single troll tribe.

Located in Stranglethorn Vale, a group of mostly jungle trolls, have gathered under the leadership of Zanzil the Outcast. He was exiled from the Skullsplitter tribe for using his necromantic poisons on several of his unsuspecting fellow trolls, but his exile has not been the punishment that his kindred had hoped. Using his knowledge in necromancy and the assistance of several witch doctors that have pledge allegiance to him, he has built up an undead army that is loyal to him alone.

The Zandalar tribe is believed to be the tribe where all trolls have descended. They are considered as an overarching priest caste for all trolls. They value the acquisition of knowledge above all else.

And that is far as we can go, if you want to know more details about trolls, just click on the read link just below this article for a complete history of Zandalar and the Zandalari, Zanzil and his followers and the beginnings of the Sandfury tribe.
