pobsWe've been given massive doses of screenshots, dev logs, and beta updates on Pirates of the Burning Sea. We know that they're all prelude to the big event, the actual day the game sails on to retail shops. Are they ever going to announce a date? Of course they would, but not at this time.

Though the developers have a specific date in mind, they don't want to announce it just yet. Even with good feedback from the beta, they've still reserved time for some bug fixing and general polishing. They're making sure they don't cram in features and changes up to the last second. Of course, some of the better suggestions would find their way to the final version of the game. Once the developers are confident that they're under control, the ship date will be announced.

While doing some backend stuff, the team is prepping up the frontlines by working on the PR campaign. They're developing a concrete plan what will send people out to LAN parties so groups can play the game early. Expect a marketing blitz with lots of public appearances and advertising in non-game magazines, such as college newspapers and the Stars and Stripes.
