Last December, Cryptic Studios packed up and moved in with Atari and Infogrames, in effect turning over all of their proprietary IP, tools, technology and even WIPs to their new parent company. Inside sources are now alive and abuzz that part of the turned over WIPs would be an MMO version of Neverwinter Nights.

Excited much for the not-so-near launch of Cryptic Studio's Champions Online? You'll have to hold on to that excitement much longer as we've received word that there's been a change in schedule.

Cryptic Studios, independent developer for games like Star Trek Online and Champions Online, will soon be officially acquired by Atari's parent company, Infogrames Entertainment, this according to a press release sent out today.

Cryptic Studios, the guys behind Champions Online and Star Trek Online, have confirmed that they are looking at developing games for the PlayStation 3. Hopefully they're also thinking of porting over some of their MMOs to the console.

As many of you already know, Cryptic Studios is the developer working on Champions Online and Star Trek Online. Some of you probably already know that these games are being designed to appear both on the PC and the Xbox 360.

Now here's something you probably don't know about yet: Star Trek Online and/or Champions Online might be getting a PS3 port.

The Star Trek Online first ever gameplay video has finally been unveiled, as promised, by Cryptic Studios at the Star Trek Convention held recently in Las Vegas. For more details on what went down, head on over to full article.

Whether you're a trekkie, a trekker, or just a fan of Star Trek, you must be very excited that Cryptic Studios has taken up the development of Star Trek Online. After Perpetual Entertainment halted development early this year, Cryptic Studios is now taking up the mantle and has announced that it's working on a Star Trek MMO, called Star Trek Online, which is supposed to head to the PC and consoles.
