ArchLord is expanding, and you are all invited to go check out the new world, Evangarda. Here, Codemasters Online is giving players a treat by giving them new opportunities to create new characters in an entirely new world, and all from the same starting level. To coincide with the launch of Evangarda is a week-long treasure hunt, as orchestrated by Codemasters. The treasures that are up for grabs are no measly trinkets, mind you. Rather, we're talking about hundreds of silver, gold and platinum chests spread and hidden throughout the new world of ArchLord. Apart from the launch of the new world, Codemasters also have something else to celebrate, in the form of the 600% growth in the numbers of players ever since they moved to a 100% free-to-play MMORPG last month. Says Adam McGowan, Codemasters' Product Marketing Manager, "We are incredibly pleased to see the recent surge of new players entering the game service further with yet more new game content coming online in the forthcoming months." |

It's already been a year since RF Online first went live in North America and Europe. In honor of RF Online's first anniversary, Codemasters has a nifty little surprise for all long-term RF Online players: the Pioneer's Sword, a weapon that allows players to increase their character's speed. Codemasters is also gearing up for the release of Episode II Part 1. This latest addition to the RF Online saga will be going into test status over the coming months and is slated for a live-service launch later this year. Codemasters Online Gaming Product Marketing Manager, Adam McGowan, also promised more good things to come. "Our brand new website design coupled with all these FREE major updates we have on the horizon are very encouraging. This is a positive time for RF Online and we look forward to many more updates over the next 12 months," said McGowan. |

Codemasters has just announced the release of the ArchLord graphic novel. You've played the game, so why not read all about it as well? Created in collaboration with TOKYOPOP, the graphic novel is based exclusively on ArchLord's lore and set in Chantra’s past. Readers will get to follow the adventures of Leon, a descendant of the legendary Nathan Manas, the founder of human civilization in Chantra and renowned for mastering the power of the legendary Archons. "The manga is an incredible compliment to the game, delving into the personal lives of characters that exist in the backdrop of the multi-player world," said TOKYOPOP Editor Luis Reyes. "It examines the mythology of ArchLord in a way that draws game enthusiasts closer to the overall story." "The partnership with TOKYOPOP and the creation of the ArchLord graphic novel just goes to show that ArchLord's popularity is growing outside the normal boundaries of the MMO gaming audience," said Adam McGowan, Product Marketing Manager for Codemasters Online Gaming. "This is a testament to the depth of game play offered and means that ArchLord will continue to capture the imagination of both gamers and manga comic fans in the future." The ArchLord graphic novel is already out in North America. You can grab one from most major book stores in the U.S. for US$ 9.99. A European launch is also in the works. More images from the graphic novel after the jump! |
