How would an MMORPG be complete without big hulking monstrosities that lay waste to their domain and pound the puny players into organic compost for the soil? Well, you can't always blame them if they're always grumpy and out to crush the living daylights out of you. It is, after all, a requirement for colossal abominations to be grumpy all the time and stomp around the land with an evil-like swagger (usually though, this is simply because they have a little thorn stuck on their big toe). The Slag Golems are native to the Sharkhead island in City of Villains. They are titanous beasts made up of living scraps of metal and junk. They have been witnessed eating junk, but whether or not this replenishes their health, no one knows. They were first reported to have been seen during the 50's and 60's when miners were suddenly being brutally attacked. The Slag Golems would "melt" out from the piles of junk and waste and lash out at the miners. As the Slag Golems lurk around their domain, they constantly speak of protecting their Guardian and that humans who try to intrude into Sharkhead pose a threat to this Guardian. Who, what, or where this supposed Guardian is, no one has still been able to answer. What's sure though is that the Golems' response to these intruding miners is direct violence. You might want to check it out for yourself and maybe find a whiff of this Guardian amidst all the compost and trash. Because you know what they say: one man's junk is another man's treasure! |
