Vanguard: Saga of Heroes Sony Sigil MMORPG - Image 1On the official Sony Online Entertainment and Sigil Games' Vanguard: Saga of Heroes website, it was announced that In-Game support is currently in limited operation while Account and Technical Support are currently unavailable due to wildfires in the San Diego area. The development team just recently moved to the SOE San Diego office and it looks like they'll have more to worry about than just getting used to their new office space.

This means that any game or account problems that players may be experiencing will probably not be addressed until the fires have died down and all the systems are back in operation. If you still want to try to get in contact with a GM, you may have to wait some time as the announcement stated that response time may be delayed.

If you're experiencing problems and don't want to wait, you might want to try accessing the Knowledge Base or sending an e-mail to Sony since that line of communication is still functional. You can find more details via our Read Link.

Now while there are no shortage of Medics in the on-going closed Beta phase of NCSoft's Tabula Rasa, any player going to jump into a seemingly endless war waged against the Bane would think once about taking the more offensive classes and take second opinions when choosing stealth or support classes, such as the Medic - or the Tier 4 Medic class in this case.

In order to diffuse confusion with support classes' offensive capabilities, Community Manager April "CuppaJo" Burba demonstrated the Medic class at the recently concluded ComicCon 2007 at San Diego, emphasizing how useful a support class can be in the United Free Sentients' struggles against the Bane.

Those who haven't been lucky to participate in the Beta phase but are heavily interested in the upcoming sci-fi MMORPG can check the video embedded below for some gameplay features discussed in earlier articles, including ceaseless conflict even while offline and capturing outposts.

WoW Comic Book - Image 1Details have finally emerged about the new World of Warcraft comic book from the San Diego Comic-Con.

The story will be focused on a human character who can't remember his past who finds out a lot of info on the Horde, making him a threat. A new character named Valeera Sanguinar will play a kind of black horse in the story. She is a blood elf rogue, a night elf druid gladiator who has to come to terms with the world after the destruction of Quel'Thalas.

You may be familiar with Valeera Sanguinar if you bought her action figure: it turns out that the action figures from DC Direct are the cast of the comic book.

The events of the comic books will affect events that will happen in the game and will probably be introduced through expansion packs. There will be 12 issues to the comic books. There was also a bit of a slip about details concerning the WoW movie that will be coming out soon. We'll just have to wait and see about that.

The comic book will be out this November 14 and can be pre-ordered for US$ 23.99. Take a look here to see some concept art while you wait.

World of Warcraft Diorama# 1 Sculpture revealed at comic-con - Image 1 World of Warcraft Diorama# 1 Sculpture revealed at comic-con - Image 2

If you were at Blizzcon 2005, you might recall seeing a mural of a Blood Elf female going up against a Draenei Paladin from Blizzard's World of Warcraft. A lot of people thought it looked really cool, including the people from Sideshow Collectibles. So at the San Diego Comic Convention, they revealed a sculpture based on it.

The company has dubbed their creation The World of Warcraft Diorama #1, and has given word that it will be available and fully painted by 2008. If that's not enough, Sideshow Collectibles has also announced that there will be a special edition which includes a Nether Whelp accessory. The people making the sculpture spoke about the debut of their masterfully crafted statue at the Comic-Con as well:

We are showing it for the first time. It is the Blood Elf versus the Draenei. This is our first World of Warcraft Diorama. Of course, it is unpainted right now. But it's taken us a while, and it's taken us a while to get our first piece out because it is an extremely and intense sculpting process.

You will be able to see from the pictures on the website how detailed everything is right down to the little characters in the armor. We will have a painted sample of this sculpture within the next month. You guys will be able to check it out and pre-order. The sculpture will be available by the second quarter of next year. And we will do more things within the World of Warcraft as well.

After going over the images, this blogger has to agree with Sideshow Collectibles that the amount of detail they put into their product is absolutely amazing. So if you want to get this, you might want to start placing your pre-order now.

WoW, the comic - Image 1We're sure you've seen a lot of submissions in the World of Warcraft comic and art contests. Well, if you enjoyed those shorts, maybe this bit of news will pique your interest.

Imagine Jim Lee and Chris Metzen in one comic convention at the same time. You guys really don't have to use your imagination much though, as Blizzplanet reports that it is indeed happening at the San Diego Comic Con.

If you don't know either of them, here's a bit of a briefer: Chris Metzen is VP of Creative Development for Blizzard, or to put it simply, he's responsible for World of Warcraft lore. On the other hand, Jim Lee is a highly successful comic book artist and is responsible for the iconic costumes of the X-Men, the creation of WildC.A.T.s, and even the literal resurrection of the Fantastic Four and Iron Man in Heroes Reborn.

The information drove Blizzplanet to dig further into whether DC Comics or Blizzard was planning a World of Warcraft comic book. After rummaging through the interwebs, they found the scans below, which include an interview with Walter Simonson and Ludo Lullabi, writer and artist for the said comic.

Hmm... Was this supposed to be a surprise meant for BlizzCon or atleast the San Diego Comic Con? We'll see that in a bit. We'll keep digging just in case an official announcement has slipped past our internet hamsters. Stay tuned.

SOE: We won't dumb down Vanguard - Image 1So it has been settled that MMO video game title Vanguard: Saga of Heroes and Sigil Games are now wholly-owned by Sony Online Entertainment (SOE).

There have been reports that some employees were fired on the spot because their positions are quite redundant. The question now is what happens to those who were not fired? We know that former head Brad McQuaid was retained in an advisory role, how about the others?

Jeff Butler, on the other hand, is being transferred to SOE's San Diego office to lead a team of five developers and create a new prototype MMO. However, this project is not on a full scale basis and it's still uncertain if it will ever see the light of day.

Also, SOE Director of Corporate Communications and PR Courtney Simmons said that fans shouldn't be worried by the recent acquisition because SOE is going to take care of Vanguard. She explained,

People who purchased Vanguard knew what they were purchasing. There is no doubt that Vanguard is a hardcore game, for hardcore MMO fans and SOE is very much committed to that vision. They have no plans to dumb it down for a mass audience.

Well, this is actually the second time that it came to Sigil's rescue when it comes to Vanguard. Before all of these happened, Microsoft partnered itself with Sigil Games to published the product. However, that didn't push through and the reins were picked up by SOE May of last year.
