WoW logo - Image 1A few days ago, players of the World of Warcraft MMORPG reported that they were having problems attempting to transfer characters between realms.

For some people like Cartian, this meant that they were stuck at the window's "pending approval" queue for more than 12 hours.

In light of this recent problem, Blizzard representative Syndri dropped by the forums to create a thread to keep the affected players updated. Here reads the latest announcement from Syndri:

As some of you have already noticed, the Paid Character Transfer service has been temporarily shut down so that further efforts may be made to ensure that its correct functionality is restored; our developers are currently working to repair the underlying coding issues that have contributed to the present complications for many players. While it is not known at this time when further updates shall become available, you may rest assured that we shall make you aware with all due haste at that time; for now, we are greatly appreciative of your continued patience. Thanks, folks

The latest replies to this post (dated today) indicate that the waiting queue for the transfers is still pending. We'll let you know in case this recent problem gets a priority fix, and hopefully an update.

Time to reroll and visit Deathknell!Looks like we have another excuse to leave our abusive guilds, inflated auction houses, and unbalanced PvP matches. Nethaera, one of Blizzard's community managers just informed the folks at the forums of four new realms they've opened up for World of Warcraft.

One of the best things about joining a new realm is a second chance at doing server firsts. These new servers are all based on Central time though, so folks in Chicago may have an easier time with this. Best of all, there's no inflation and no superpowered players from paid character transfer transactions getting there for at least six months.

Here's her post, for those interested parties who want to start fresh:

We’ve opened four brand new realms to be added to the Emberstorm Battlegroup. These realms are new non-transfer realms and as such The Gates of Ahn'Qiraj are closed and the realms will not be available for Paid Character Moves for six months. We invite new and old players alike to join these realms and begin fresh adventures in Azeroth.

Moon Guard- RP Central

Hydraxis- PvE Central

Quel’dorei- PvE Central

Mok’Nathal- PvE Central

See you on the battlefield!

wow

A couple of days ago, Blizzard announced the availability of the Paid Character Transfer service for World of Warcraft. This new functionality allows you to transfer your character to other realms in order to join your friends or if you're looking to make new allies. Upon the launch, transfers were allowed to the following realms: Altar of Storms, Argent Dawn, Demon Soul, Illidan, and Warsong. Blizzard promised to scale up the list of realms to accommodate more players. True to their word, seven more realms were added to the list. You can now transfer characters to these realms:
  • Arthas
  • Zul'jin
  • Stormrage
  • Dalaran
  • Turalyon
  • Magtheridon
  • Spirestone
To start transferring, you just have to log on to WoW account-management section and go to the the Paid Character Transfer section.
