ELPSA logo - Image 1The Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association (ELSPA) and some of its partners recently conducted a raid which yielded illegally copied Nintendo DS games stored on discs. Meanwhile, ELSPA's crime unit head, John Hillier, wants to remind gamers (whatever console you may own) the detestable effects of piracy on the whole industry. For more on this raid, head on over to the full article for more information.

Logo of Funcom's Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures - Image 1As unlikely as barbarian kings going around wearing Nikes is, this was the latest rumor to go around Funcom's upcoming Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures (PC, Xbox 360) title. In a recent statement released by the developers, it was confirmed that the actual game will not support in-game advertising. Learn more about this story by clicking on the "read more" link below.

ABC Island in Second Life - Image 1

The third most visited commercial site on Second Life, ABC Island, has been attacked and erased from the map. ABC Island is home to more than six million members around the world.

"It looks like we've had some enormous cyber-bomb set off on our site," said Craig Preston, ABC Innovation's head of technology. "Somebody has nuked us in some way, shape or form, and they've obliterated almost every object on the site." Only the digital transmission tower was spared.

Fortunately, the ABC folks were able to repair the damage, albeit after several hours. They still have no idea as to who the cyber-assailants could be, but they are of the theory that it could have been a jealous commercial rival. Reportedly, the "griefers" or online vandals, left logos of the popular sports brands Nike and Puma. However, they are not quick to dismiss the possibility that it could have been left there precisely to throw the investigation off track.

Linden Lab is helping out with the investigation, and it is hoped that they may have a digital recording of the attack taking place.
