Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventure MMORPG - Image 1The siege combat in Funcom's Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures is bugged as hell, or at least that's the common consensus of the players who've tried it so far. A guild on the Deathwhisper server conducted a siege on one of the Battlekeeps in the game and found a lot of problems, with the biggest one being lag. To find out more, head on over to the full article.

Blizzard releases WoW Patch 2.1.3 - Image 1

Blizzard just released a new patch for World of Warcraft and is mostly concerned about bug fixes, not to mention the usual improvements that comes with such releases. Some attention was also given to graphic changes, including the ones recently brought up by players over at the MMO game's official community site.

Anyway, enough talk from us, we provide you now with the notes for WoW Patch 2.1.3:

General
  • In-game mail containing money will now have a one hour delay and is no longer instantaneous. Auction House generated emails for successful auction sales are still instantaneous.
  • Read in-game mail will now be kept for thirty days instead of three.
  • The Warlock spell Incinerate has had the performance of its graphical spell effect improved.
  • The "show launcher" option has changed so that it now defaults to "on". Players will now see the launcher when running WOW by default.
  • Abyssal monsters in Outland are now lootable.
User Interface
  • Improved the performance of conditional macros, slightly increasing the framerate.
  • Fixed a crash triggered by many unit frame AddOns.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue with the movement of Archimonde's Doomfire.
  • Fixed the wand missile art on most Shadow based wands to show the correct graphical effect.
  • Infinity Blades will now despawn properly when the encounter with Kael'thas resets after a wipe.
  • Gan'arg Underlings and Felhound Defenders are now properly classified as demons.
We have to say, though, that we can't ascertain if the list above is complete. It should be remembered that it had occurred various times before that there are changes that don't appear in the official patch notes for some reasons. We'll keep an eye on this one and inform you if some more are found.

Age of Conan and Crysis were able to show off their potential running on DirectX 10 for Windows Vista at the Consumer Electronics Show. With stunning visuals and graphics, the Age of Conan demo didn't disappoint.

The organizers had the good sense to place the demo in a jungle scene. They were able to showcase texture, light dynamics, and the lush landscape. Moss covering trees and a light fog set quite an environment.

Some interesting gameplay tidbits were also shown. Players will be able to meet monsters of different shapes and sizes. And of course, what's a Conan game without insanely large swords/weapons? There's also the innovative combat system and the real-time battles that really sticks players into the fray. The title is to be rated Mature (M) so the devs had a relatively free hand when they added the blood and gore aspects.

DirectX 10 was impressive but it wasn't perfect. There were some glitches like lagging briefly after new quests are acquired, and some problems with the framerate. The rough edges are atleast minimal.

The nagging question remains: how will the Xbox360 version measure up? The PC version would be better visually. Of course, Vista would be required and a HIGH end PC. Funny that muscle-bound barbarians (who look like they've been shooting up steroids since birth) are probably the signal to juice up your PC hardware. There's still no official announcement regarding cross-platform play between players on PCs online and on Xbox Live. It's still being considered, and there are several possibilities. The downside for Xbox360 players is that they would need a hard drive.

The PC version of this title by Funcom and Eidos is set for release this summer while the Xbox version is tentatively up within a year (hopefully within this year).
