Details have finally emerged about the new World of Warcraft comic book from the San Diego Comic-Con.The story will be focused on a human character who can't remember his past who finds out a lot of info on the Horde, making him a threat. A new character named Valeera Sanguinar will play a kind of black horse in the story. She is a blood elf rogue, a night elf druid gladiator who has to come to terms with the world after the destruction of Quel'Thalas. You may be familiar with Valeera Sanguinar if you bought her action figure: it turns out that the action figures from DC Direct are the cast of the comic book. The events of the comic books will affect events that will happen in the game and will probably be introduced through expansion packs. There will be 12 issues to the comic books. There was also a bit of a slip about details concerning the WoW movie that will be coming out soon. We'll just have to wait and see about that. The comic book will be out this November 14 and can be pre-ordered for US$ 23.99. Take a look here to see some concept art while you wait. |

If you were at Blizzcon 2005, you might recall seeing a mural of a Blood Elf female going up against a Draenei Paladin from Blizzard's World of Warcraft. A lot of people thought it looked really cool, including the people from Sideshow Collectibles. So at the San Diego Comic Convention, they revealed a sculpture based on it. The company has dubbed their creation The World of Warcraft Diorama #1, and has given word that it will be available and fully painted by 2008. If that's not enough, Sideshow Collectibles has also announced that there will be a special edition which includes a Nether Whelp accessory. The people making the sculpture spoke about the debut of their masterfully crafted statue at the Comic-Con as well: We are showing it for the first time. It is the Blood Elf versus the Draenei. This is our first World of Warcraft Diorama. Of course, it is unpainted right now. But it's taken us a while, and it's taken us a while to get our first piece out because it is an extremely and intense sculpting process. You will be able to see from the pictures on the website how detailed everything is right down to the little characters in the armor. We will have a painted sample of this sculpture within the next month. You guys will be able to check it out and pre-order. The sculpture will be available by the second quarter of next year. And we will do more things within the World of Warcraft as well. After going over the images, this blogger has to agree with Sideshow Collectibles that the amount of detail they put into their product is absolutely amazing. So if you want to get this, you might want to start placing your pre-order now. |

I don't know what it is about game developers, but they seem to be throwing parties left and right. If you remember we featured Xbox's Arcade Wednesday's Party which took us right into the Xbox HQ. And now, Sony Online Entertainment is at its heels with the first ever SOE Block Party. It was held at the San Diego Comic-Con last July 22, 2006, under smoldering weather. It featured guided tours guided tours of the SOE buildings, prize raffles, food, drinks and other assorted goodies. Plus SOE game demos, including a sneak peak at the upcoming PlayStation3 title, Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom! Here are some of the highlights of the event in full color.

If you're a fan of any Sony Online Entertainment's MMORPG's, listen up! If you're coming to San Diego's Comic-Con on Saturday, 22 July, SOE is inviting you to their first-ever Block Party, going from 3 - 7 PM! SOE is offering shuttle buses for Con attendees from the San Diego Convention Center between 3 and 5 PM (look for the SOE signs near section B of the Convention Center). Return trips to the Convention Center will be run every 30 minutes until the party's over. It's highly recommended that party-goers take advantage to this service as parking will be very limited. As for what you can expect there - in addition to food, drink and door prizes, attendees will get a guided tour of SOE's San Diego facility and a chance to try out some game demos - including a special preview of their upcoming PS3 title, Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom! Those in attendance will also have the opportunity to meet team members and staff (and might get to drop some of them into a dunk tank!) Other party guests include fantasy author R.A. Salvatore and comic writer and Matrix Online tale spinner Paul Chadwick. The best part of all this...? It's *FREE*! |
