Beckett Massive Online Gamer magazine and Upper Deck is offering an exclusive downloadable game sleeve this week which features the latest expansion from the World of Warcraft TCG: Through the Dark Portal. The sleeve has exclusive artwork from Upper Deck on the back. Doug Kale, editor of Massive Online Gamer, spoke about this promo. We saw an opportunity to provide readers of Massive Online Gamer magazine and fans of Through the Dark Portal with something special for their deck holder. After they answer a few easy questions they can download the cover sleeve for free and it really adds a little spice to their World of Warcraft TCG Starter Set or Raid Deck box. There are three World of Warcraft related questions that gamers have to answer to receive the free download. To be honest, I've already answered the questions and downloaded the sleeve to give my Graccus deck box a new look for the next qualifiers tournament, so what's stopping you from doing the same? You can find the questions and download via our read link below. |

Heads up, Guild Wars fans! There's another Double-Your-Fun Weekend scheduled for the end of this week in Cantha.Guild Wars (in our humble opinion) is a beautiful and cool game. It's going to be twice as nice from August 11 to August 13 because your chances of getting a rare drop from any chest in Cantha is doubled. Of course, there's also an increase in the drop rate for keys. This is a great weekend to increase your collection of cool items. The rare item bonanza starts at noon (Pacific Daylight Time) on Friday, August 11, and ends at 11:59 PM, Pacific Daylight Time, Sunday. By the way, Guild Wars fans might also want to check out the August/September 2006 issue of "Massive Online Gamer" magazine because Guild Wars is the cover story. We're not sure if you've heard of the magazine because it's relatively new. But in my humble opinion, it may be worth checking out because it's from Beckett Media, but don't take my word on it just yet. I still haven't gotten my hands on a copy, and I've only seen mixed reviews from those who have (some people really love it, and some people really, really, really hate it). But hey, it's from Beckett Media. They're the fantasy and sci-fi collectible media giant, don't you know? I remember many a dateless Friday night when I would peruse their magazines... Anyway, back to the Guild Wars coverage in "Massive Online Gamer." The Ritualist is on the cover. And inside there's an article about Factions and a PvP primer that might come in handy. |

As we sat in our chairs, arranged in a comfortable circle sipping our coffee, the young, twenty-something man with the haunted eyes and thin, sandy hair stood up. He was gaunt looking, and the thick lenses of his oversized wire-framed eyeglasses betrayed many nights sitting before the ghostly glow of a monitor, lost in a world of sword and sorcery..."Hi...my name is Jason...and I'm an addict..." "Hi, Jason!" we all replied in unison... If this sounds like you, there's a new bimonthly magazine coming to your local newsstand. Today, Beckett Media (best known for its sports trading cards) announced the launch of Beckett Massive Online Gamer. The print magazine covers existing MMOs like World of Warcraft and Guild Wars and forthcoming titles like Gods and Heroes and Warhammer. Beckett promises behind-the-scenes look at MMO gaming communities as well as community driven topics. "Beckett Massive Online Gamer was very well received at E3 in Los Angeles and we have added a number of advertisers for the next issue already," sys Mike Obert, Associate Publisher at Beckett Media. "Overall the feedback we have received reinforces our feeling that this community will embrace this publication since it addresses a number of topics that are hot button issues for the serious and casual gamer." Beckett Massive Online Gamer will have a cover price of $5.99 and will be available at 50,000 retail locations nationwide. |
