The new expansion for Final Fantasy XI has shipped and is in stores now. The pack features an entire new continent and three new jobs (Puppet Master, Blue Mage and Corsair), which we mentioned in an earlier article. Judging by the size of the original, this new continent will be huge and complex, so don't expect to blaze through this pack in a few hours. There's a lot more, of course - click our link below for a full list of the updates and changes, including new missions, auto-translate phrases, and new enemy behavior.

Netamin Communication Corp. has released a free game, called Ultimate Baseball Online 2006. What is unique about this game, besides being a baseball MMO, is its unique character growth system. In the game, you create a new character, and you level them up with experience points, skill points, and parameter points. The in depth character leveling system has 7 parameters:

Stamina, Arm Strength, Body Strength, Catching Range, Throwing Accuracy, Quickness, and Speed. Your character can level up with these, and you can base your character with a class system, as well. Pitcher, Catcher, First Base, Second Base, Third Base, Short Stop, Left Filed, Center Field, and Right Field are your choices, and you get paired with other player in other positions when playing games online. One of the most unique aspects is the games website, offering leaderboards, team challenging, tournament setup, and individual player statistics. Netamin has plans to bring this game to pay-to-play in the future with a one time entry fee, so sign up while you can!

A new martial arts themed RPG is set to hit PC via Acclaim and Indy21. Set in a Jade Empire style world with exciting combat styles and varying gameplay, this seems to be a promising game. At the 9Dragonswebsite (named so for the nine fighting style factions), they have a lot of videos and trailers as well as an application to become a Beta Tester. With all the hype surrounding traditional-style RPGs, will this game get any of the limelight it deserves? We'll see, but one things for sure, this is shaping up to be an interesting new title! Here are some screens to tide you over in the meantime.
