Funcom's sent out a press release today announcing the discounts they are offering for your Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures subscriptions. You asked for it, you got it. Details after the jump.

This one's definitely no rumor. Funcom itself has announced on their official homepage that they are cutting "around 20% of the staff...mostly in the Company's Norwegian subsidiary."

Still not decided whether or not you should get Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures? Come on, that seven-day free trial was already a sweet deal! Nevertheless, if you still need more, Funcom and Xfire are up to the challenge, throwing in a couple more cool deals for you.

Funcom has announced that their best-selling MMO title of 2008 will be made available as free trial right at this very moment. A sure sign that you're losing players is when you have to reduce the number of your servers. This is precisely what's happening with Funcom's Age of Conan as the company closes down over half of their servers, this revealed in their very own forums.

Heads up, Age of Conan gamers! Funcom has announced that it will be merging servers in both the US and in Europe. They also mentioned that the long-awaited DirectX 10 version of the game is almost ready for launch on the test server. Details in the full article.

Today via press release, Funcom's let out a whole big batch (and by big, I mean "a huge number of" and "hugely insane resolutions of") screenshots, screenshots, and more screenshots for Age of Conan. We get to see the expansion teaser art too, as well as comparisons of Age of Conan on DirectX10 vs DirectX9. Plus a sneak peak at the free content that's coming within the next few months! It's thumbnail enlargement time!

Funcom product manager Erling Ellingsen in the Leipzig Games Convention reaffirmed that the upcoming Conan movie from Lionsgate will have some pretty close ties to their MMORPG, Age of Conan. Details are still sketchy, and they've a lot of hurdles to overcome yet.
