The Chronicle

What's different from this game is that it picks up where most stories would have left off. Yup, it starts at the end. Just when you thought the storm is over, you suddenly realize that there's actually more to do in terms of recouping.

The Chronicle, with the choice from 27 races, is a virtual world where players can enhance and improve their characters via a vast array of skill set, the reward for their freedom from a previously oppressive regime. It is about rebuilding, this game is. And of course, as no endeavor is ever smooth-sailing, conflict will surely be still lingering around. All of the 27 races are hell-bent on trying to regain their glorious past under a rigid timeline as a great wizard almost wiped out all life from their world.

It was a benign act coming from this wizard, given that his real intention was merely to clean away all weaponry, armies, and greedy conquerors. However, some evil force came to know about this wizard's plan and manipulated events to make it work for him, thereby blowing everything up to catastrophic proportions. Then again, this same evil is back to reign over the realm after the initial impact of the destructive spell has dwindled away. Now, it is up to the original races to not let this evil force get them a second time. This is for their redemption.

Feel free to check out the crypts of the realm via these truckload of screenshots.

In case you guys haven't checked, The Chronicle did a major overhaul on their website, and it now comes loaded with new stuff you wouldn't want to miss. We did a quick tour and saw that they have just dished out tons of concept art, screenshots, model shots, and we also found out that in the very near future, they would also start featuring player races.

From the website itself, you'll find everything you need to know about the game world, EAI (Emergent Artificial Intelligence) system, game interface, chat and communications system, character creation, inventory, factions and guilds, player skills, crafting, loot and looting, PvP and combat, questing, and so on, as well as information about how to pre-order the game.

The Chronicle team also announces the Scavenger Hunt contest that they will be holding, where the first player to complete the Hunt will win 1 out of 50 Beta slots. This contest is held at MMOCenter.com, so just check them out via the source link below for more details about the hunt.

The game is still its Beta stage, obviously, and for this reason we're still in the dark as to how the storyline has evolved, especially after such a long time that we didn't hear from the guys at The Chronicle headquarters. But because we now know that there's new content courtesy of the groundbreaking EAI, it's so tempting to keep watch. Take a peek at the concept art straight from The Chronicle site. More updates soon, so stay tuned!

In the 10th Dev journal from Luke, we take a look at the Death Realm, this is the area where 'main' characters go after they die with one last shot at redemption...

In their 10th developer journal, Luke looks at what happens when a main dies

You awaken in a daze; you look around the cavern and think to yourself “This is not where I was.” In front of you is a strange looking creature with evil eyes, yet you feel he is no threat. He smiles at you: “Welcome, to the Death Realm.”

Perhaps you overestimated your last opponent, you recall the final blow, but you do not recall anything after that. “What zone is this?” you say. You wait a moment, “Hello??” No answer. You think to yourself “I was in the middle of a Siege a moment ago, my Guild needs me!”
