The Granado Espada logo - Image 1It's not very often that an MMORPG expansion gets to be named by fans. In Sword of the New World: Granado Espada's case, fans got precisely what they asked for in the aptly named Manifest Destiny expansion, and then some.

The difference isn't just in the name, however, as K2 Network has throw in new recruitable UPCs, new maps and zones, new events, new elections and new store items. That's just the tip of the iceberg; the full article awaits after the jump, as always.

Sword of the New World: Granado Espada is free to play - Image 1The publisher of Sword of the New World: Granado Espada, K2 Network, has given word that the game will be completely free to play. When this game was first launched, it was free only until a character reached level 20. After which, the players had to pay a subscription fee if they wanted to continue.

Those who still want access to some of the more exclusive content will still be able to access the Cash Merchant to get rare items and equipment. CEO and Founder of K2 Network Joshua Hong spoke about the details of this move in a recent press release:

We are extremely excited about this title, especially with such gorgeous graphics and the ability to play up to three characters at once, but Free2Play up to level 20 just isn't enough! At K2 Network, we put Gamers First, and thanks to the community supporting this game, we are now able to offer the same Free2Play model as all of our other titles. It's Free2play all the way!

If you still have a month of subscription time, don't worry because K2 Network will be giving you 1,000 Cash Shop Gold and three web unique characters:
Adelina Esperanza, Lisa Lynway, and M'boma. All of these are worth US$ 40, making this a pretty sweet deal for those who have prepaid subscription fees.

So what are you waiting for? Head on over to the Sword of the New World: Granado Espada official website through our Read Link, download the client, and try it out. After all, you have nothing to lose since it's completely free.

Sword of the New World - Image 1With the arrival of Sword of the New World: Granado Espada, K2 has revealed their lineup of events for the Leipzig Games Convention which will be held on the 22nd. If you plan to join the pilgrimage to the Convention, you'll be able to find K2's booth at Exhibit Hall 4, stand B46.

K2 will be displaying a number of their current games in their booth including, of course, Sword of the New World. Aside from that there will be contests and a photo shoot with your favorite K2 character. They'll be using blue screen though, so wear something... not blue.

There will also be a photo shoot with, as K2 describes, a "a sexy female character from Sword of the New World: Granado Espada." Of course there's also the complementary goodies where visitors will walk away with t-shirts, necklaces, mouse pads, and other nice freebies.

A live War Rock tournament will also be held at the KIPA booth on August 23 in the World Cyber Games Booth in Hall 2. Winners will get prizes.

Sword of the New World: Granado Espada has now officially launched for North America and Europe. Hosted by K2 Network, this Age of Exploration-themed MMORPG is fully available for download starting July 10, after a highly successful open beta testing period that started last month.

With its revolutionary Multi-Character Control (MCC), Sword of the New World: Granado Espada caters to both experienced and novice MMORPG players. Embellished with beautifully detailed maps and intricately designed characters, and enhanced with a rich musical score performed by top musicians, the video game from K2 Network promises to send gamers to a mysterious world where they can vie for fortune, adventure, and fame.

Those who wish to experience the world of Granado Espada have two packages to choose from: the Pay2Play CD Networks Premium Package and the basic subscription package. The Premium Package costs US$ 19.99, and includes a fast client download, an exclusive UPC character, 10,000 VIS in-game currency (to be used for trading and auction with no level cap), and the first month subscription fee taken care of. The subscription fees for the succeeding months will be US$ 8.95. The basic subscription package on the other hand, will have gamers take care of only US$ 8.95 for the initial fee, and includes full game access, as well as trading and auction support.

Gamers who just want to try out the game first can play it for free until they reach level 20. The game will still be free-to-play after that, but their characters will not gain any further experience points.

To download the client for any of the packages, you can head on to the game's official website by following the Via link. Before that though, check out the screenshots of the game, Sword of the New World: Granado Espada, below.

Still in Beta stages and it's already going hot - formerly named Granado Espada, Sword of the New World is shaping up to be an MMORPG to be reckoned with. After winning the Korean Best Graphics and 2006 Presidential Award for Game of the Year, this game made by Hakkyu Kim in the fame of Ragnarok Online is starting to win the hearts of other Asian countries. The new title marks its coming to the west.

As fans would know, you have access to a huge lot of 32 characters in the game. Also new to the MMORPG scene, there is the multi-character control (MCSC) that lets the player use three characters at once. Five distinct classes and different stances for each makes for a fresh gameplay experience.

One of the images on top shows a team coming from a high level family. It's quite nice to see that a game with low spec requirements can dish out such pretty places. The character models are pretty good too, compared to other Free2Play games.

Not a believer? Open and Closed Betas are on-going, so just sign up at their site. Hurry up so you won't miss out, lucky Fileplanet subscribers are already having a good time in the fantasy world of Sword of the New World.
