One of the compelling features of most MMORPGs is the ability to play as a variety of character or job classes - the more classes to play around with, the better. In Maple Story, Nexon America has upped the ante with a fourth job class and, on top of that, other goodies for more enjoyable Maple Story play. Interesting facts, to be sure, but why stick with the bare bones information when you can have the full details after the jump! |

If you think MMORPGs these days are too complicated or if you think all they have to offer are pretty graphics, then Nexon is proud to give gamers the highly acclaimed 2D, side-scrolling MMORPG Maple Story. Originally released in Korea, the latest version set in Europe is training the relatively young community by giving out helpful tips across a series of articles. Dean D. Cho, Development Manager of Maple Story Europe at Nexon, talks about the wide array of weapons, equipment and other playthings gamers can bring along their adventures. The MMORPG draws its popularity from the simplicity of the gameplay and easy-to-use item synthesis system of collecting in-game items to create bigger and better equipment for your character. Just because Maple Story is free to play, it doesn't mean that players are limited to the items available from NPC shops and stores. The Maple Story Europe Cash Store makes available pre-made items for a price. Players can also avail premium services which can help enhance the level of gameplay, such as enhanced storage and item inventory space. Either way, it's your choice whether you want to pay to play or stick to the default pointy stick that you get with your starting character. If you're looking for a change of pace, then go ahead and try partying up with other cute characters in an online excursion. You can check out the continuation of this ongoing series of Maple Story articles in the days to come. |

Just about every MMORPG has an economic system which keeps players busy trying to make game money to purchase items in the marketplace or from other players that will aid them in surviving the hostile world. A good currency system balance can make or break games, and MapleStory has a good plan on how to keep things stable. There are two types of currencies in MapleStory. the first is the Mesos, or regular cash which can be found within the game, and then there's the NEXOS cash which can be acquired by paying real money. Both of these currencies have special uses, so listen up. Mesos is used to purchase regular equip-able items and consumables such as health items that will replenish your life. It can be acquired from slain monsters, by selling items, or by completing quests. In short, this is the reward for hard grinds that you'll do either alone or with a party. If you want to look different and get the netter gear that the game has to offer, NEXOS Cash is the way to go. There's a special way and place where you can get the NEXOS-only gear, and you must replenish your account to do so. The game offers very safe transaction methods, so don't worry about a thing if you wish to go for this loot. Hairstyles, plastic surgery, special equip-able items, and more can be mixed and matched for maximum customization. What's more, you can sell this stuff to other players for good sums of Mesos if you need some. Either way, it all works out. MapleStory will release more information that will give you a headstart on the game's basics. Keep it right here because we'll fill you in once new facts hit. |
