Here's some good news for those who want to try out a new MMO experience. Lockpick Entertainment has announced that starting this week, their MMORTS title Dreamlords will be free to play for a ten-day trial period. Dreamlords lets players play the role of a Dreamlord controlling a patria, which is a fancy name for a chunk of land floating around in the game's universe. The patria has its own population and resources and will serve as a player's base of operations as they struggle to manage their territory. The ten-day free trial is open to everyone interested. You don't need a credit card to participate and there are no strings attached, so check it out. You can join via the Dreamlords website at www.dreamlords.com. |

Lockpick Entertainment posted recently three screenshots for its MMORTS video game Dreamlords that should give fans a preview of good things to come. The images reveal to players that the title will sport a new combat GUI that will allow them to access the new PvP system. This will let them upgrade tactical points as well as use other brand new features.
What Lockpick does is use a test team known as CTT that's composed of Dreamlords' community members. These group of guys are the first ones to try upcoming features and give the developers feedback about them. Lockpick Entertainment, on the other hand, tweaks the said features based from CTT's reports. The screenshots included in this article was provided by CTT and was taken from the game's latest dev version. However, Lockpick mentioned that this will continue to evolve in the coming days as reports from CTT and updates from the company' developers are on a on-going basis. Check with us here at QJ.net regularly to get the latest on Dreamlords. |

We all know that whenever online play is involved, there's a big chance that we will encounter rowdy and rude players. Lockpick Entertainment knows this bit particularly well and that's why it started the Fair Play Awards for its MMO title Dreamlords. Here's how it works: players will be submitting nominations to game developer Kristofer Carlsson, starting March 5. The people who will be nominated should be someone who contributes a lot to the game's community by being friendly, helpful and just generally having a positive character. Come March 9, Lockpick will then construct a forum poll for the most nominated players. At this stage, the rest of the community will be voting for their favorite player, and the results will be presented to the company's CEO, David Rosen. Rosen will then award the winner with prizes which are yet to be revealed, but since it's the CEO himself who would be giving them away, expect big and fabulous things. Lastly, more than prizes and any in-game items, the winner will receive full recognition by being published in two news articles in the game's official site. The nomination link as well as other details can be found by clicking on the "Read" link below. |

The first real-time strategy MMORPG, Dreamlords, is out from a February 15 release date. The release version of the RTS-client is available for download. The RTS-client download must also be followed by manual patch download to ensure that future patching will be feasible for both the online RTS-client and the Collectors Edition. Dreamlords is a combination of RTS and MMORPG by incorporating RPG-developed characters in tactical battle scenarios. It gives you the ability to own your own land (called a Patria) and manage it as you see fit. Recruit members for your army and field them in battle. The Collectors Edition will be available soon as a boxed version of the game. |

Dreamlords has finally been released. Strategy gamers or MMORPGers with a penchant for strategic warfare are now dancing with glee. For those, who haven't heard of it, it might be a good idea to check the past articles we have done. Anyway, the tutorial video and the intro are out now, and they've convinced me to pick up this game. It looks awesome, and from all indications it plays awesome as well. We don't know how it will stack up against the kings of the MMORPG world such as WoW and EverQuest II, but it might be the next big thing given the gameplay that the game provides.

Sweden-based game developer Lockpick Entertainment has finally announced the release date for their upcoming MMORPG, Dreamlords. Never heard of the game? Well, Dreamlords is a cross-genre MMO that combines role-playing aspects such as RPG character development and trade skills with an RTS combat mode. It reached the beta testing stage around three months ago, and it looks like the company's nearly done putting the finishing touches on the final build. In Dreamlords, you take on the role of a Dreamlord, a magical entity spawned from the nightmares of the Mythic Dreamer. There's also the Convergence guild where you have to cooperate with the others in order to be successful in the game. With Dreamlords all prepped to hit the shelves on February 15th, it won't be long before you get to go all god-like in the land of Patrias. Stay tuned for more updates. |

In Neil Gaiman's Sandman Universe, Dream of the Endless is often called by many names, one of which is Dreamlord. In the MMO Dreamlords however, the term refers to magical entities that spawn from the nightmares of the center core of the universe. Don't be misled though, the two aren't connected in any way whatsoever. We were just reminded by Gaiman that's all. To more important matters, Lockpick Entertainment is happy to announce that the game has now reached the Beta testing stage. After two years of development in Sweden, this would be the first in a series of Beta stages and as such, it's a closed one. Don't worry though, the studio is still accepting applications as more testers will be admitted throughout the whole phase. Want to be a beta tester? Just click on the read link below. Lockpick has always maintained that Dreamlords is not going to be like any other game. It aptly combines the accessibility of a web game with RPG character development, RTS battles and long term tactical strategy. Still, its estimated release is at the end of this year. |

Bring out the Bogeyman and the monsters inside your head 'coz Lockpick Entertainment, the developer of the massive MMO title Dreamlords, is inviting all of you to help design a monster for the dreamworld of the said game. Artist Björn Hurri will be the head designer and will be doing the illustration drafts, BUT, how she will design and draw the candidate monster for the game will be left totally up to the gaming community, which is you guys. All you have to do is submit your weirdest and craziest ideas for a monster and if it's good enough, Björn just might pick up on the idea and work on your suggested idea. Pretty cool, huh? All you have to do is pitch in your suggestions and ideas over at the MMORPG site, which Björn will be constantly checking out. New updates will also be posted so you can comment and remark on the development of the monster. This way, the final design of the monster will be shaped by the suggestions and comments you make. Don't you think it would be really interesting to battle it out with a monster that you yourself designed? So head on to the MMORPG site to pitch in your ideas and remember: the crazier and scarier, the better! |

In Dreamlords you assume the role of a Dreamlord in the control of a patria. A patria is a chunk of land floating in the universe with its own population and various natural resources. This will serve as your base of operations. As the patria grows, more choices must be made. Your skills are required to focus your strategy, be it might through force, cunning, alliances or some other means. Everything is allowed in the war for existence. Game Designer for Dreamlords, Marcus Andrews, gives us an overview of what to expect from Lockpick Entertainment's MMORTS or a massively multiplayer online real-time strategy game. He begins by telling us the system requirements for the game which are a PC with a pixel shader 1.1 graphics card and an internet connection. In other words an average gaming computer. However, since the game is still in the development stage this is still subject to change. The full article awaits after the jump! |

Dreamlords, the MMORPG offering of Lockpick Entertainment, has been on the right track towards its release date. The game is actually a MMORTS or a massively multiplayer online real-time strategy in which the player manage through a web interface and play the battles in a 3D Real Time Strategy module connected to the online server. Players explore their own lands in the web interface and resolve any encounters in the Real Time Strategy (RTS) client. Players can also wage war against each other in ranked and unranked matches. In this game, you'll be able to play a Dreamlord, a higher being in a world that is falling apart. Being in control of a Patria, a piece of land floating in a fragmented world, you can control the essence of the world - Gnosis - to your advantage. Gnosis is the attention of the world’s creator, the Dreamer. With the power to manipulate, the Dreamlord sets out to get more and more attention from various methods among which war is a big factor. Sounds philosophical if you ask me, but hey whatever floats their boat right? For now, go ahead and take a look at some of the game's screens. On a more personal note, we would like to thank Elathiel for the info.
