Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning - Image 1We've got some news fans of EA Mythic's upcoming MMORPG, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. The first is that details about the Collectors Edition of the game have been revealed and that it is now available for pre-order. The second bit of info is that the game has been delayed to Fall.

Gamers who decide to pick up the Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Collectors Edition will be getting a lot of extra stuff aside from a copy of the game.

Included with the special bundle is an exclusive Games Workshop miniature of Grumlock and Gazbag, an original Graphic Novel called Warhammer Online: Prelude to War, a 224-page hardcore collection of original art called The Art of Warhammer Online, and bonus in-game content. It was also revealed that gamers from Europe who pick up the game will also be getting a gaming mouse pad.

Moving on to the launch delay, EA Mythic GM Mark Jacobs announced in the Warhammer Online March newsletter that they have decided to push back the game's release date to Fall this year. According to him, this was done so that they could have more time to polish the game.

He pointed out that while the key innovations they wanted to add in the game such as Public Quests, Tome of Knowledge, and Realm vs. Realm combat were coming along well the developers still feel that the game could still use "a layer of polish or two."

That said, Jacobs reiterated that this is for the best. So before we go, here are a few parting words from him:

While I have no doubt that the community will experience a wide range of emotions over this decision, I urge you to remember one thing (and to keep the tar cold and the feathers on the birds), that our goal has never been to release a game by a certain date but to release a great Warhammer MMORPG.

We have not wavered from this goal and with the full support of Games Workshop and Electronic Arts we intend to release a glorious next-generation MMORPG.
