When you've met with success in one endeavor, it's only natural to want to pursue another one. That's what Tokyopop and Blizzard will be doing, in fact.

The two companies have announced a three-year plan that involves two of Blizzard's most popular franchises: World of Warcraft and StarCraft 2. Tokyopop and Blizzard said that the success of the manga series Warcraft: The Sunwell Trilogy inspired the idea.

As a result, the two of them intend to produce twenty-two all-new, never-before-seen adventures set in the WoW and StarCraft universes. The two companies have names for these, too. The first is StarCraft: Frontline by Richard A. Knaak, Naohiro Washio, Simon Furman.

The three will be joined by other writers and talents to ensure the integrity of the universe being created. It will reportedly feature a new Thor heavy combat walker unit which will actually be included in StarCraft 2.

The second planned series is entitled Warcraft: Legends, again with Richard Knaak and Jae-Hwang Kim. The two of them previously worked together on Warcraft: The Sunwell Trilogy. They will be joined by the likes of Dan Jolley, Carlos Oliveros, and Mi-Young No.

Tokyopop's and Blizzard's two new manga series are set to debut this August. Watch out for them and this space for more future updates!
