Whether you're a trekkie, a trekker, or just a fan of Star Trek, you must be very excited that Cryptic Studios has taken up the mantle from Perpetual Entertainment with regard to the development of Star Trek Online.

Well, things seem to be going well so far as Cryptic Studios has announced that the first gameplay footage from Star Trek Online will be shown at the annual Las Vegas Star Trek Convention this August 10. If that's not enough, Jack Emmert, chief creative officer behind the game, will also be talking about future plans for the game as well as taking questions from the audience.
