Project Wiki

Yes, yes, it looks a whole lot like um, what's the name of that little game Nintendo makes? Oh yeah, it looks a lot like Windwaker... a whole lot. Now that that's out of the way we can concentrate more on what makes Project Wiki so unique and intriguing, and one of my most anticipated MMO's.

Firstly, and somewhat ironically is the simple fact that it looks so very different from everything else on the market, or that's coming for a long time. No muscular orcs or devilish looking creatures here, just happy, inviting looking characters and a charming fairy tale world to explore.

Project Wiki takes place in a land where the seven Crystals of Time have been stolen, anyone possessing these mythical artifacts has the ability to travel through time and space, and alter history to their liking (probably not a good thing). You'll have to band with a group of fellow adventurers and embark on an epic quest to save Project Wiki and rescue time itself!

Project Wiki

Project Wiki promises a massive game world with ten distinct civilisations each with a wealth of cultural heritage, unique myths and amazing legends. Players will get to choose from three different races, beasts, humans and fairies, each race possessing unique classes.

You'll also be able to encounter NPC's who react adaptively to unique individuals, they might send you off on  one quest and send the next person that talks to them off on a totally different one just because they are who they are.  Customising your character by establishing his or her hair color, and hair style, attitude and facial expressions will have an impact on your gameplay styles, the missions and quests you'll embark upon and as mentioned even your interactions with others.

Look at the giant pandas! They look so cuuute and happy!

I'm personally looking forward to Project Wiki and I'm hoping it'll be more of a feel good, relaxing, casual MMO, maybe one of the few that doesn't actually become hard work the more time you invest in it. (I'm lookin' at you EverQuest 2) Don't you just hate it when you suddenly realise you've gone from having fun in an MMO to suddenly grinding just to reach the next level? Seriously, and to think I pay for that privilege!? *end rant*

So what do you guys think of project Wiki so far? A breath of fresh air, or derivative?

 » ...Wow...

It's been a long time since i've been excited over an MMORPG (Well, Phatansy Star Universe really isn't an MMORPG in my mind)

This game looks great, I can't wait to actually see what it offers me...

YEAH IT DOES LOOK ALOT LIKE WIND WAKER...The faces...the clouds...

 » Hangups

Hopefully people will let go of the usual hang-ups and give Webzen a chance to bring some solid game play to the table before dismissing Wiki based on the visuals (which I happen to like). Webzen is pretty serious about getting into the US market so I don't think they are going to half way do anything. Their US CEO seems a little wishy-washy about the title, but it's too early to tell really. I'm just glad someone is doing coverage. It seems the demo was rather well hidden at E3 despite Webzen's noisy presence.

I completely agree with Christopher, the game play needs to match the wrapping if Wiki is going to be a success. I think the art style isn't any more a Wind Waker rip-off than anything else cutesy and cell shaded. To be honest it looks to borrow from both Windwaker and a game that has not made it to the US (to my knowledge) called Homeland. The whole "OMG the character looks like Link" thing from last year was very obviously intentional. What better way to get press than to get warned by Nintendo. ... about as opaque as saran wrap...

 » The best EVER!!!!

I can't wait for this game and I'm glad I found others like me too!!

I love these graphics for a MMORPG!!! It reminds me of Wind Waker and they are bright and very colorful compared to other MMO's on the market!!

I also had a chance to play the game at E3 and the game play is pretty solid like WoW. Wiki is a fantastic game and I can't wait for it.

WIKI ALL THE WAY, BAYBAY!!!!

» A MMO That Doesn't Require My Whole Life

I can't wait to get my hands on this game, unlike most mmo's i see on the market this is the first one where i have thought to myself "hmm, it looks like i could have tons of fun on this game without having to work hard(i know i sound lazy)." But that's how i feel, from the looks of this game i reckon i could have alot of fun just running around town or riding those pandas. Man i hope we get pandas as mounts XD.

Hi all it's really nice to see some coverage for this game.

Have you got any info on Parfait Station?
Seems like noone writes about it.
