Screenshot of Flying Lab Software's Pirates of the Burning Sea - Image 1User interface features are one of the biggest concerns the development team from Flying Lab Software are tackling right now. Because of which, an elite "strike team" comprising of some of the core members of the dev team was formed to handle the implementation of the new UI stuff they have planned out.

User Experience Researcher Janice Von Itter (Fraxl) talks about some of the plans they have in store in a post on the official Pirates of the Burning Sea website. She mentions the enormous task set up for them with the numerous forum posts and player feedback regarding the game.

A long list of features have already been stacked for approval so far, and the dev team is very excited in seeing most, if not all, of them implemented. Here's a list of some of the highlight features already in the works so far:

  • Chat bubbles (and the option to turn them off)
  • Floating player names (also toggle-able)
  • Re-organization of chat channels and tabs to reduce spam
  • Streamlined chat input and output
  • New chat box and tab art
  • Improved LFG system
  • Improved society and friends list controls
Fraxl also invites players to check out the Playability Lab forums for any updates on some of the new features that they may possibly put up there. This is definitely a good sign for those players who want to get into the game and throw in their two cents at the same time.
