French Capitol Pointe a Pitre as marked on a map - Image 1It seems a lot of new things are brewing over at Flying Lab Software these days. Not only does the company have a new producer and a new client and tools programmer in the persons of Joe Ludwig and John Zipperer, respectively, but a new content patch - patch 1.2 - is in the works for Pirates of the Burning Sea.

According to Ludwig, some of the new features that PotBS players will come across in patch 1.2 will include the following:

  • The new French Capitol -  Pointe-a-Pitre has gotten a new look and new mission content.
  • Open sea upgrades - Expect more reasonable battle placement, an added battle prompt, and NPC battle survivors returning to the open sea.
  • New tutorials - New skill tutorials will help ease the learning curve for new players, especially since they're tailored to nations of the player's choice.
  • Facelifts for pirate NPCs - These include unique outfits for boarding and landing missions, plus new NPC loot that actually gives missions to players.
  • improved UI - Watch out for new chat bubbles, names floating over heads and more.
  • Bey's Retreat - This is a new epic mission that will reportedly take a group of experienced players some 4-6 hours to beat.
Ludwig mentioned that Flying Lab Software will be revealing more information across several devlogs as it goes along, so expect more information from the company in the weeks to come. in the meantime, if you'd like more information regarding some of the other changes to come with PotBS patch 1.2 (such as fixes for the port contention issue), feel free to click on the source link below.
