Pandaren Monk - Image 1

Just a week after the in-game pets for World of Warcraft were announced, one of the two variations has apparently been sold out, just goes to show how WoW-crazy some people get. The Pandaren Monk, listed for US$ 10 on the Blizzard pet store, has now been "sold out" in the United States.

Now you have to wonder about the "sold out" part - it's a virtual item for pete's sake. Blizzard didn't mention anything about the pet offerings being limited or anything, so how could they possibly run out of it? If this has anything at all to do with the fact that half the proceeds will go to the Make-a-Wish Foundation, then you'd think the Pandarens would last until December 31st, when the charitable offer ends.

The Pandaren Monk is still "in stock" in Europe and Korea.

Little Kel'Thuzad is still up, although purchasing the evil Lich won't be making donations to the Make-a-Wish Foundations. It seems by far that people want to keep beer-guzzling Pandarens as pets over frosty Liches.

Blizzard customer services reps are now looking into the matter. I've just checked out the US page for the Pandaren Monk, and everything seems to be fine now and the pet is available again. Anyone still having a sold out problem?

» funny that the Pandaren was fake, and now it real...

It's kinda funny. The Pandaren race was created by the artist of an old web comic called Machall. He created an image of the Pandaren in an area that looked like something out of World of Warcraft, on April 1st a few years ago. Then posted the picture on a website, saying it was leaked from Blizzard. Exactly one year later, after all the rumors sky rocketed and people were demanding the Pandaren, he admitted to the hoax, his all time April Fools day joke on the people of Wow.... And now the Pandaren is actually in the game... Funny.

 » This is invalid

I saw this post on QJ, what I've come to know as a very good source (my only, in fact) for video game news in general...

This information is INCORRECT. The pandaren monk pet IS NOT SOLD OUT.

I've been holding off on getting them, and as soon as I saw this post, it threw up a red flag, because I recall reading from a blizzard post that they do not have any plans to discontinue these pets in the foreseeable future. Furthermore, this pet was the one they allegedly are donating half of the proceeds from to charity, on all sales through Dec 31st this year.

The moment I saw this post on QJ, I jumped to the blizzard store, and purchased the pets. No hitch, have both codes, and pets in my possession now.

My only question is how did this get posted on a site with such notoriety?

Actually moron you should do some research before you actually post. Go here http://www.wow.com/2009/11/11/pandaren-pet-sold-out-on-blizzard-store/ if you actually learn to read but he let me just copy and paste for you moron:

UPDATE 11:30am ET: Blizzard is looking into the matter, which should assuage most people's fears that the item is indeed sold out.

UPDATE 2:00pm ET: The Pandaren Monk is now back in stock and available for purchase! It was just a glitch in the Matrix, people. Nothing to see here.

» Pet is now still available

If nobody read my reply that is fine by me but let me say this it was a glitch on blizzards part which they have now fixed.

So I repeat the pet is still on sale.
