Mythos: Development team bids farewell amidst Flagship Studios mass lay-offs - Image 1

The effects of Flagship Studios' recent mass lay-offs have far-reaching consequences impacting more than just Hellgate: London. Over at the Mythos forums, project lead and programmer Travis Baldree recently wrote a goodbye letter to the MMORPG's beta test community as he prepared to depart from Flagship. Here reads part of Travis' letter:

Well, it's an interesting few days here for all of us. It's just been killing me not to post until now, but I really needed to wait until some things were settled and announced. As you may or may not know Flagship Studios laid off almost all employees effective friday - you should be able to see the press release in the Announcements. Now, on the face of it, that really does sound like the end of Mythos as we know it - but we have a tight-knit team that feels like family and hopes to stick together. Unfortunately, I can't speak at any real length about our immediate plans just yet - but let's say that we hope to have you back up and Beta testing for us in one way or another sometime soon.

The Hellgate Guru site further reports that other former Flagship Studios employees working on Mythos' closed beta phase have sent in similar goodbye letters in Travis' thread. With most of its development team gone, the fate of Mythos' future progress remains unclear. Those interested in reading the rest of Travis' letter can visit the Mythos Beta Forums via the source link below.

Visit us again in case we run into any more details regarding this news, such as whom Flagship plans to bring in to replace the original dev team.

 » Such a shame

Feel really sorry for these guys, i really hope they have somewhere to go. Its such a shame as they seem so down to earth and they are willing to partake in their community unlike many other big developers, plus they can hang around and have a laugh and a joke while they're at it too, even in times like this.

If they live up to their intentions and start their own studio (or all join another place) I will be willing to support these guys as much as I can. A team like that is too far and few between to ignore and not give respect and support to.
