Give up? Or did you guess right? The answer: Harry Goatleaf is the keeper of the West Gate of Bree. When Frodo and his companions first arrived in that town, Harry was the first man they met.

In Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar, Harry Goatleaf also keeps the same post.

During Frodo and his friends' stay in Bree, the Black Riders came down upon their room and ransacked it, hoping to kill Frodo's party while they were asleep.

However, Strider had the foresight to escape beforehand because he suspected Harry was involved with the Black Riders. However, it cannot be proven. In Lord of the Rings Online, Harry is also connected with a number of brigands and strangers from the South.
