Conan movie - Image 1It looks like Lionsgate is going full throttle with their upcoming Conan movie. While it's already been noted before (check related articles below), Funcom product manager Erling Ellingsen in the Leipzig Games Convention reaffirmed that the movie and their game will be going hand-in-hand with each other.

How so? Here's what Ellingsen had to say:

The movie is set for release next year, and it's going to be a huge movie. Lionsgate recently announced that they're putting a hundred million dollars into it. We have a very close relationship with the guys making the movie. I had lunch with the producer just the other day. We're talking to them all the time. Yes, we will tie the two together.

Talk all they might, they have yet to find, ultimately, a director and their cast. Despite this future hurdle that they would eventually have to cross, it's pretty rare that a product manager for a game and a movie producer would be talking about their projects. Chances are, we might see some new content for Age of Conan that would be coming from the movie, and vice-versa.

Wait, did someone say new content? You know what that means: ten thousand more weekly patches! Harhar, I kid, I kid...
