Readers and fans of the Lord of the Rings series may recognize these two legends we're about to talk about in this article, and should properly be glad to know that they're appearing in the MMORPG Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar. Here they are, Legolas Greenleaf and Gimli, of the Lord of the Rings Universe.
A little backgrounder on the two: Legolas is a woodland elf, born of the King of Thranduil. Rumored to be 500 years young, Legolas is renowned all over the realms of Middle-Earth to be devastatingly efficient with his dark bow of Mirkwood and a superb warrior who's proven his worth in countless battles. Players will find the gentle-spirited archer in the vale of Imladris.
Gimli son of Gloin, is another familiar face. A dwarf of much renown, Gimli is a stout-hearted warrior with an unshakeable determination and an indomitable spirit. This, with his years of experience battling everything from dragons to serving in the Fellowship of the Ring and combined with his brute mastery of the axe, makes him a legend completely in his own league. Players will be able to meet the dwarf in Rivendell, and they would do well to learn from him.
It's certainly great that players can actually see these legends in-game. Adds more to the feeling that you're actually in the world Tolkien himself created, don't you think? Updates as we get them!
