Chris Taylor Rejoins Interplay; Fallout MMO Still Planned - Image 1Interplay reports that the team behind the upcoming Fallout MMO is bringing in Chris Taylor, who worked on the original Fallout game. If you were worried that the MMO won't be faithful to the series, this might ease your mind.

Aside from being part of the original Fallout team, Taylor also worked on Baldur's Gate - but don't confuse him with the Chris Taylor who was part of the team of Dungeon Siege and Total Annihilation.

So how long do we have to wait before the game's released? Well, that's a story in itself.

Interplay was awarded the rights to the Fallout MMO, though the rights to the Fallout series were given to Bethesda Softworks. According to their contract, Interplay had to begin full-scale development of the game in the next two years to retain the rights to the MMO. Aside from that, they have to release the full game before four years have passed after development begins.

It'd suck for Interplay if they miss the deadline, so let's just assume they'll meet it. From previous coverage on it, it seems that development started sometime In January last year, so we can expect the game to come out before 2011. Yeah, looks like we're in for a long wait before the game is released.
