Those who have a knack for drawing out the laughs out of just anything should take a gander at the latest screenshot caption contest for Flagship Studios' Hellgate: London MMORPG. Do check out the picture on the right for the screenshot: it looks like a depiction of bloodslaying that's getting a bit routine, what with the imposing red demon hovering in the air, the blazing hot fire, and all the usual stuff. Think you can spin a bit of humor on this shot? This time around the prizes at stake are an exclusive Hellgate: London poster and a pack of Hellgate: London postcards, perfect as additions to the collection of any and all Hellgate aficionados. They're worth the effort of getting more brain juices flowing than the usual. The contest is open to everyone, but you should get an IAHGames passport before joining the contest. All the captions should be in English, and you can send as many entries as you want provided that you won't spam them. The contest will end on September 13, so there's actually plenty of time to think about lines that would tickle fellow gamers' funny bones. Happy brainstorming! Get more information about the screenshot caption contest in the Read link! |

If you've ever wondered how a cross between Disney's song-infested animated movies and Blizzard's Word of Warcraft would work, here's your chance to find out. The guys behind the ever-so-popular Looking For Group comic recently released a fully-animated teaser of what could be the most twisted - and most hilarious - spoof that the internet, in all its insanity, could ever come up with.
If you have any tots or kiddies watching, you'd do well to have them not see this teaser, as it's a bit graphic. While we can't help but laugh at the idea of an undead warlock singing something along the lines of a cheery Disney song while killing people, the violence goes beyond the usual cartoony sort we're used to - decapitation, exploding cats, and so on. But it's still funny. Anyway, courtesy of Blind Ferret Entertainment, it's the Looking For Group: Slaughter Your World teaser video! Enjoy! |

Thousands of funny conversations happen in the World of Warcraft every day. Just by looking at the multitude of available videos that can make anyone laugh, we know that plenty of humor can be found from millions of WoW citizens. To record the hilarity in the pages of history, someone going by the name Furism decided to make a website compiling all lulz-worthy conversations from any MMORPGs. If Bash.org doesn't ring a bell, it's a long running website with the funniest message logs that come from IRC chats. In the same spirit, WoW Bash aims to put together a good collection of the most hilarious chat screenshots from WoW and other online games. Anyone can upload an entry, but it would probably go through some filters to ensure quality. Head over to the Top 100 page to find the highest rated entries. Rest assured that you'll be laughing, unless you're not familiar with interactions on the web at all. Many of the conversations apply to other online games, so there's definitely something that will at least make you grin. |

For every ground-breaking title out there, there exists an unsung hero. They – like soldiers and bad sitcoms of old – are the miserable underdogs who never receive the due credit they deserve for their work. We're not talking about the developers - we're talking about specialists - the (fictional) guys who work behind the scenes to ensure that the elements in whatever genre you play will always remain in tip-top condition, whether its your resident androgynous antagonist 's script, or your unfriendly neighborhood mook's marksmanship scores. These guys will be the topic of today's quick list - along with an explanation with that special thing they do just to make the game better for one special individual - you. On to the list! 1. Sephiroth's acting coachLet's be honest - Sephiroth isn't that original. More than one anime, manga, and J-RPG can boast its own brew of silver-haired, bad-ass sword-wielding bishie hotness, with Sephie being just a part of this popular trend. What sets him apart, however, is execution (acting, not Aeris…). Sephiroth's dark foreboding lines and steely glare will haunt many a gamer's dreams, and for this, we can thank the man's ever-capable acting coach. We're talking the drama-guru who made Sephiroth walk the walk, talk the talk - the dude who probably taught him captivatingly cheesy one-liners like "Shall I give you despair?" I'm afraid you haven't, Mr. Sephiroth's Acting Coach. You did give plenty of fanboys/girls something to think about for their next few - err - dreams, though... Special accreditation goes to Cloud's hairdresser. The rest of the list is available in the Full Article |

Here's another machinima video of Blizzard's World of Warcraft, and this time it's starring Arnold and the rest of the crew from Predator. So grab some popcorn and pull up on your favorite chair as we look at the serious, but nonetheless hilariously-epic World of Predatorcraft.
While other machinima videos run for a few minutes or so, World of Predatorcraft actually runs quite longer, and shows the movie from beginning to end (with a few cuts here and there, of course). What's awesome is that they actually used the original voices from the movie itself - much better (and also easier) than dubbing the movie's entire script themselves. Well, that's enough from us! Get to the video! |

Guess what, folks? Oxhorn recently released another one of his "Oxhorn's Short Shorts" and it's definitely worth a look for this week's WoW Weekend Machinima. Oxhorn's latest short is called "The Peace Circle", and it tackles the events of one fine morning when Mortuus, Associate Professor Evil, and a hungry ogre named Thunk commune with nature with the help of a hippy elf.
One note for Oxhorn fans here: make sure you watch the entire thing. His commentary on Eurovision music is definitely a hoot, which adds even more comic value to the already-wonderful comic stylings of Oxhorn. Enjoy! |

We all know that Druids can shape-shift into Epic airliner Stormcrows or powerful, tanking Bear forms, but this little tip from the wicked entries at the public LiveJournal blog had us doubling over with laughter. This one from Taishokao especially, totally doubled the giggle value. So we guess things aren't all that bad for the Druid class: Blizzard just gave you a new option for specialization - and it goes "beep, beep!" If you check up on the Druid's Arena Gladiator gear set up on World of Warcraft Europe's Armor Sets page, you'd notice that if you hover your mouse over any of the items, you would spot a set ability that goes a little something like this: "(4) Set: Increases your movement speed by 15% while in Bear, Car, and Travel form. Only active outdoors." Bumblebee, you've got competition up your sleeve, and they aren't Decepticons. Now we are definitely sure that was a big doo-doo on Blizzard's part, because they've been known for many tooltip typos before. That's not even counting the ones they have on the in-game interfaces and dialogues.Car form... It'd be nice if you could use that to run over opponents at the Arena. So what level do Druid's get the new form, eh Blizz? *wink, wink* What's next, "Beer" form? |

Let's steal ourselves away from all the controversy for the moment and get to the lighter side of World of Warcraft. Known for attracting budding machinima artists definitely not short of a sackful of humor, Blizzard officially announced a new episode of the Gnomeregan Gnews Gnetwork viewable only from the official site of World of Warcraft.
"Crisis at Da Portal" is a hilarious take on many concepts and issues in the World of Warcraft, including Dwarven accents, Troll accents, and gleeful (playful?) antics from the voluptuous Succubus. The video also includes excerpts from the Valentine's commercial back in the Day of Hearts in February, although it was re-spun differently this time around. The video is created with outright hilarity, where even names have been toyed with to sprinkle to the humor. There's also some good re-spun concepts of Murlocs again, although we'll leave it to you guys to find out what it is. While we all await the end of the Azeroth Exposed Youtube contest on April 26, this video should be a reminder of how fun a WoW video could be. You can click the "Read" link below to pop right to the video and watch it for yourself. And you won't need the popcorn for this one, folks. We bet it'll peel your socks off as it did us. |

Below is an interesting video from the folks at Markee Dragon INC. Yes, the guys who got tied up in a legal mess with Blizzard over WoW Glider. Anyhow, the video below, although a bit on the silly side, does in a way raise some eyebrows.
300 Burning Crusade boxes with a company responsible for WoW Glider and a forum full of people trying to scam other people for account info. What will they do with US$ 140 dollars worth of keys? Conspiracy theorists be disappointed - here's a response by Markee Dragon on the thread where the video showed up first: "Even though we did not expect these 300 boxes of WoW BC to arrive. we won't be just giving them away. We will sell them through www.shatteredcrystal.com" Yeah, it turns out to be one big indirect attempt at viral marketing for their product. Sigh. Anyhow, if any of you get mail or messages from anonymous sources claiming that they're giving away one of the keys in the video above, and then they ask for information. Don't listen to them. You know better now, right? |

It probably won't really end that addiction you have with Blizzard's grand MMO, but it sure is funny, and poignant all at the same time. Lingxor made a funny movie pitting the console and MMO worlds as the Spartans and Persians, respectively, and there's a lot to be said about this short trailer..
Besides making a spoof of "300" and juxtaposing gaming related terms into the trailer speech, there are also cameos from Solid Snake, Kratos, the guy who did the "50 DKP Minus" bit from WoW, and the Xbox 360's original Spartan. Lingxor managed to put a lot of different games into this sweet trailer, all with their best action bits intact, to entice people to try out console gaming for a change, instead of grinding their way to 70 in WoW. Like we said in the beginning, it probably won't change your mind about gaming, but it will be funny. That being said, which would actually win in a fight, do you think? The consoles, or the PC MMOs? |
