Hellgate: London - Image 1Even as Namco Bandai tried to salvage the little that was left of Hellgate: London, it will still be closing down on the 31st of this month, sadly. However, not all is lost forever as HanbitSoft, Korean publisher and developer, reassured that it will remain to be a free-to-play game.

Also, in an official press release, HanbitSoft even says that they are working on future updates to the game, this time with the objective of focusing on "strengthening community features" while retaining the original core gameplay.

In fact, there's a "large-scale" patch coming soon, which will "combine the two game play modes, unifying the split two communities into one".

Hopefully Hanbitsoft can iron out all the wrinkles and tie us the loose ends, as there's clearly still an active community playing Hellgate. To have something fun tied up with who owns what, and who's allowed to publish what where, only ultimately ends up hurting the end consumer.
