NCSoft has signed a contract with Chinese company The9 to bring Guild Wars to China. The9 will provide services for Guild Wars for the next three years, and help NCSoft strengthen its position in China even further.

NCSoft's CEO, Tack Jin Kim, had this to say about the agreement:
"The9 has a proven record of excellence in the Chinese market as a leading online game operator. We are confident that through the partnership, Guild Wars will receive great response from Chinese gamers and once again raise the game's status in the global market."

Guild Wars has been widely regarded by Western audiences and press as one of last year's best online games. It not only won numerous awards, but was also a commercial success with mainstream gamers, as playing Guild Wars requires no monthly fee.
