ArenaNet and NCsoft announced the grand finale of the Guild Wars Factions Championship Series will take place at Europe's largest videogame convention in Leipzig this August 24 to 27. The global game is open to all Guild War players and the five guilds with the most championship points (from the qualifying heats between March and June) gets to compete for more than $100,000 in cash and prizes.

The World Champion also gets to choose the designs of next season's set of Guild Wars skill pins. NCsoft Europe said "The news that the Guild Wars Factions World Championship will be held in Leipzig will be greeted with enormous enthusiasm by the fans and we are looking forward to creating a real buzz during the Game Convention." We think the over $100,000 in cash and prizes will take care of the "real buzz."
