Myst Online: Uru Live - Image 1Ricardo Sanchez, VP of Content and Creative Director for GameTap, has just released an open letter to the community announcing the shutdown of Myst Online: Uru Live servers in 60 days.

According to Sanchez, GameTap's decision to discontinue the Myst Online: Uru Live was "made for business reasons rather than due to any issues regarding the design and vision." He added that the developers, Cyan Worlds is still a valued partner and that we can still expect future collaboration between both groups.

This is sad news for gamers who enjoyed playing the online game. Those who still want to keep in touch with their online friends they met in the game might want to know that MystOnline.com will still remain live and active so they can continue to chat it up in the forums.
