EVE Online: Trinity expansion launch date announced - Image 1For the denizens of CCP Games' EVE Online MMORPG, the wait will be over very soon. The developers have just sent out word that the game's Trinity expansion is arriving next month, on December 5.

That gives you guys a little more than a week to prepare and to check if your PC's all set for the enhanced graphics Trinity will be bringing in. CCP Games CEO Hilmar Veigar Petursson had this to say in light of this upcoming release:

EVE Online players always inspire and amaze everyone at CCP, and it is invigorating to see our subscription numbers surpass 200,000 as we prepare for the Trinity release. We're pleased that advances in graphics technology allow us to present the world of EVE as we had always envisioned it. We look forward to sharing the Trinity edition with the fast-growing, dedicated community that shares our passion to remove the barriers that constrain virtual worlds from meeting their full potential.

EVE Online's Trinity expansion hosts an entirely new game engine that's expected to offer a spiffy new look to the MMO's existing ships, stations, and stargates. Also to be included in the expansion are new vessels such as the Heavy Interdictor Cruisers, new agent missions, exploration enhancements and faction LP store items.

Trinity will go live on the appointed day as a free downloadable to all EVE Online subscribers.
