An orc shaman as depicted in EA Mythic's Warhammer Online - Image 1Just when you thought North America and Europe will be the only ones to get dedicated regional servers upon the release of EA Mythic's Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, Electronic Arts gave everyone a pleasant surprise by announcing that it will also have plans of creating regional servers for Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia.

The new Oceanic server will be released simultaneously with its North American and European counterparts. The actual game server will be located in mainland Australia and will service New Zealand, Singapore, and other surrounding South East Asian territories.

While it was noted that the new service will be launched by Spring of 2008 in Australia, Warhammer Online Producer Josh Drescher explained that Australia's Spring is actually around the same time as America's Fall. This caused some initial confusion at the time this was announced, but Drescher mentioned that the game will have a simultaneous release in all regions by its US Fall release date.

In addition, Oceanic players will have a chance to play on North American servers using the same client to access either server. The servers will also include regional tags with corresponding ping rates to allow players to choose the best lag-free server to play on. Wherever you are in the world, it definitely looks like you'll be able to enjoy this classic high fantasy MMO game once it's released this Fall.
