City of Heroes now testing character transfer and rename testing - Image 1

As off July 17, the Training Room Test Server of NCSoft's City of Heroes will be introducing two new game features for testing: Character Transferring and Character Renaming. Although the testing has been going on, the live service is not expected to be introduced until after the launch of Issue 10.

Both features will carry a transaction fee of US$ 9.99 each per use (though the testing in the training room is free). We have to say, the implementation of the character transfer is pretty well thought out -  if a name conflict on the destination server occurs, a free Character Rename will be made available to the transferee.

Anyway, the developers has given word that customers who are interested in taking advantage of the Character Transfer service should be made aware that future changes to the game might remove the need to Transfer servers.

An example of the possible change in game configuration is where all players can group with anyone regardless of server. If you are interested in assisting with the testing efforts of Character Transfer and Character Rename, head over to the official City of Heroes Training Room Forum via our Read link for further details.
