City of Heroes and City of Villains merge - Image 1

The Rogue Isles and Paragon City are finally going to get the chance to coexist. We've just learned that NCsoft has completed the merging of City of Heroes and City of Villains, creating one whole game from the two halves.

Current subscribers to either game will now have access to all the features of both games, and copies of City of Heroes or City of Villains sold will now grant access to the Heroes and Villains experience. This also means that those who have City of Heroes can now try out the base-building functions found in City of Villains.

“In setting the stage for our upcoming plans for the IP, we felt the time was right to truly consolidate the City of Heroes and City of Villains universe,” notes Brian Clayton, General Manager and Executive Producer. He adds,

We have removed all restrictions that were created when City of Villains launched in order to make way for some really cool content and features we have in the pipeline. This is an evolution of the IP that lays the foundation for what’s to come.

NCsoft's unification of the City of  games paves the way for new improvements to the game, including Improvements to Supergroup Bases and raids, an offline character reward system, and the recently-revealed Mission Maker.
