City of Heroes, City of Villains - Image 1

NCsoft has just announced that Issue 12: Midnight Hour for City of Heroes and City of Villains has left the beta stage is now available for download. This expansion adds some new features that gamers are sure to enjoy, including a new zone, powerset proliferation, new epic archetypes, and two new character slots.

The new zone called Cimerora is an area inspired by ancient Greece and Rome which may hold the key to prevent further Rikti Invasions. Getting there is a challenge in itself since gamers have to work with the mysterious Midnight Squad and the Ouroboros time travel system.

Powerset proliferation pretty much opens up the villain and hero archetypes to the entire community. This means that villains can now make use of hero archetypes and vice-versa, a move that further expands the possibilities and options in character creation.

Speaking of archetypes, the developers have also introduced two new epic archetypes, Wolf Spiders and Blood Widows, for villains. Like most games would expect, both of these have some pretty good attacks.

Knowing that longtime players probably don't have enough character slots to explore the new content without deleting one of their old characters, the developers have also added two extra character slots.

There you have it, the latest expansion for both City of Heroes and City of Villains. Keep checking back here for the latest MMORPG news.
