shot of GDC announcementThe first few details and the date of GDC 2007 (Game Developers Conference) has been made public. The GDC will again be at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco on March 5th to 9th, 2007. The website is up and it has early details about speakers, sessions, and new events.

Theme. The theme is "Take Control" - talks and sessions are all about taking control of each stage and element in the development process. Attendee registration and press registration are going on right now.

Bigger. As we said earlier, the CMP Media Group (the ones running the conference) estimate that 12,500 game industry professionals (including 1,000 members of the working press) will be there, so yeah, this is a big deal. They are making the expo show floor size bigger too.

A new event. There's going to be an Independent Games Summit in addition to the annual Independent Games Festival. The summit details will be released in the future (indie game developers should keep an eye on this).

A week of good stuff. The week-long event will have lots of good stuff. Hundreds of conference sessions. Suite Night. Game Developers Choice Awards (always one of our favorites). Booth Crawl (fun stuff). Expo (oh to be there would be bliss!). Serious Games Summit. Independent Games Festival.

If you want to find out more, you can always visit the GDC website. This is a big event, and we wish it the best!
